This training collar meets my needs in training my 7 months old (68 lbs) German shepherd puppy - great value for the price. The collar has 3 modes: sound, vibration, and shock. The size of collar is easily adjustable which I really like as I can continue to use it as my dog grows. One of my favorite features is a keypad lock as it prevents accidental activation when I carry the remote in my pocket. I also like that you can turn the remote and collar off when not in use which saves the charge, so you donβt need to charge this collar often. Read more

This is a decent training collar. I got it primarily because of the lock feature. I've used other collars where I've accidentally zapped my boy and I felt AWFUL! I really only like to use the beep on my dog since he responds to it so well, but I need to have the shock available in case of emergency. Which would be if for some reason he got in a fight or takes off after a squirrel while off leash and I don't want him out of my sight. These types of collars are controversial, but when used correctly they're a good tool to have. I'm fortunate that my boy is the goodest boy, but he can be a little jerk sometimes when he has a toy at the dog park and the beep has always been good enough for us. This collar's beep is a lot louder than other collars we've used, which is a good thing. My only negative is how large the remote is. Makes me think of the old school mobile phones. lol Anyhoo, it doesn't fit very well into the pockets of my pants because girl clothes, for stupid reasons, have stupidly small pockets. But that's another review... Read more

I paid over $30 for my first one and they are only $14.99 this morning (10/11/2022), so I bought a second one. Here is my experience of these collars: Hardison is a Boradorsky [half borador (border collie/labrador) and half husky] π. He's fairly intelligent and very strong. He can also be very stubborn. The collar made use of his intelligence. He quickly associated the beep with the vibration. Since he already knew the bad behavior we were displeased with he connected the beep to bad behavior too. No more licking or jumping up on people. We never had to use the shock feature and rarely use the vibration anymore. In fact, Hardison stayed with my daughter and her 3 little ones for a weekend and if he started getting hyper she would just start opening the box and he would calm down. We have to be sure he's not licking elbows to go out and do his business and that he gets all his walks for the day, but if he has his needs met and is just being a pain, then we get out the collar and he mellows out quick. Of course this only stops bad behavior and does not encourage good behavior, and you have to have a reasonably smart dog or they won't connect the dots and you'll probably just freak them out. Update: We celebrated a first birthday for a grandson and had over 50 people in the house. At prior events, I had to have him on a leash the whole time or stick him in his kennel. This time he had his collar on and was an absolute dream dog. Everyone was so impressed. I was rather shocked myself. Part of me feels like I am cheating and hitting the easy button with this collar, but I rarely hit the easy button, and having a party that is fun and relaxing with 50-60 people and a well-behaved dog, well I'll pay money for that. We have purchased MANY dog training collars. Each has been similar but also different. Some were so complicated that I never fully understood them. Thus, they were too difficult to get the real value they offered. I think we have finally discovered a collar that not only is easily comprehended, but that also actually works as described. The Dog Shock Collar-Dog Training Collar with Remote 1600FT,Vibrating Collar by Yawpet is the easiest to operate of all the ones we have owned. Don't get me wrong, I'm not stupid, I have a master's degree in education. But, so many of the collars are too advanced to control automatically, naturally. Yawpet's collar is very straightforward. When you plug it in to charge it, an indicator shows you how full the battery is. It stays red until it is charged and then turns green. If you drive, it makes sense. When you turn the collar on, you just press the button and it turns green temporarily, vibrates a bit, and you are through. Turning it off is also easy, just pressing the same button a little longer. It will turn red and go off. On the remote, you just push they slide to on or off. Even I can work this one!! To correct the pet, press the sound or shock button. I use only the sound one and it scares my dog without shocking him. This is a great, simple collar that works to train a pet. The remote is light and small so it is easy to keep with you. I really like this collar by Yawpet and I highly recommend it. Read more
