This assembly was as good or better than factory. Like everyone else, it is tricky to install but doable. We watched a good video and read through all Amazon reviews before deciding to do this ourselves. Like most other folks, car sputtered and died after filling the gas tank. Had to limp it home and let it sit a while before it would smooth out. This part works perfectly. Absolutely is tricky to install. Getting the bottom hose off was the hardest part. We read in a review that someone cut the tube off from the connector to be able to spin it around and expose the side of the connector that is pretty much pointing straight down making it impossible to get unclipped. I am showing pictures of what we did. Also, in the videos we observed, the clip is yellow, ours was red. If you visualize the vise as the engine block, pic 3 shows the position of the fitting. By cutting off the tube, you can swing it around to expose the more important side with the strap...pic 2. If you slide a 90 degree pic under the strap, you can force it to unclip...pic 1. It's impossible to get 2 hands down there to hold the tabs and stick a pic underneath at the same time. Once you cut, you're pretty committed though. Just though we'd share this. Read more

The Dealer garage replaced this "canister purge valve assembly" with a "Genuine Factory Part" back in 2018 while under warranty; however, the problem has resurfaced after 50K-ish miles. Even after they replaced it back then, engine would often stumble once or twice after refill, but did not throw a code, so I let it go. Recently however, the trouble code resurfaced, so I thought to try fixing it myself. I'm handy with most things so I figured on chancing it with this part, even after reviews stating the difficulty in removal. It was certainly challenging to remove lower vacuum port, beyond that, a breeze to install. fixed P1450 code for excessive negative pressure in fuel tank. No more stalling / stumbling / starting difficulty after refueling. Performs better than when the part was replaced before, so this appears to be a solid cure for the aforementioned problems. To conclude, this part replacement is certainly within the reach of individuals with moderate mechanical skills. Read more

I have a 2015 Ford Edge EcoBoost 4 cylinder 2.0 which had a P1450 code. The most common cause is a failed purge valve solenoid. All I needed was the purge valve solenoid to fix this issue not the hose assembly but unfortunate, you cannot find the standalone purge valve solenoid anywhere. When you look up this part this specific make/model (2105 Ford Edge 4 cylinder 2.0) your results will come back for a design that is not actually part of your vehicle. Not sure why this is. You should also note that Amazon and other parts houses will tell you that this part Dorman 911-775 does not fit your car. Thats technically true, but if you're like me and only need the purge valve solenoid, you can easily modify this part to work. See my photo for where to make the connection. Easy and cheap. Drove car for probably 20 miles on 3/4 short trips and check engine light went off by itself. Good quality part. Read more

worked perfect and fixed the engine light on my 2016 ford fusion. one of the connectors (yellow) is a PITA but use extra long 90 degree picks and or extra long size 1 flat head screwdrivers to free the clips. look at youtube for some instructional videos to help. Read more
