I don't want to sound exaggerating, but this product is great for cooling down our face, and the effect is so refreshing that it actually helps me cool down my body. I appreciate the recommendation from Korean Grandma about this product, especially on how to use it. I think Korean products are the best, combining millennial traditions and now sharing all their formulas so anyone in the world can also benefit from them. Definitely my forever product. Read more

These are an interesting kind of skincare product. While most skincare is meant for maintenance and preventative care, these seem much more for aftercare or treatment. Another reviewer mentioned that there's no instructions, but it's actually right on the box that the product comes in. I think the confusion comes from just not knowing what the product is for. The short story about reii reii is that it's a brand created by a popular 77-year-old YouTuber, "Korea Grandma" Makrye Park. Her channel and her products are all based around her traditional skincare secrets. Acorn jelly, in particular, has its historical roots in traditional Korean medicine where it was used to treat burns and soothe rashes. The practical use of these patches is, as the marketing shows, to literally cool down your skin. Think of sun or windburn relief, a skincare treatment after the gym or the sauna, things like that. If you don't believe in the history, there's relatively recent modern research studies (Look up these PubMed PMIDs: 37594560 and 41271145) that looked into the benefits of the species of acorn used in this product and another study on how temperature can affect skin health (PMID: 34983480). The acorn studies basically note 2 important things: 1. the extract protected skin calls from UVB-induced damage, and 2. a reduction in inflammatory markers in human skin cells. Additionally, acorns naturally contain high levels of tannins. These are natural astringents and help with shrinking the appearance of pores and with skin texture. Another ingredient in these patches is allantoin, which softens keratin, increases hydration, and soothes redness and irritation. Since this review is getting kind of wall-of-texty, I'll be brief with my actual experience with the acorn jelly patches. The patches come neatly stacked in their jar. It's a bit tricky to get them out and separated since they're gel patches and are pretty delicate. They stick to the skin and stay in place really well. If I had to describe it, the cooling sensation is like an having a wet towel with a breeze blowing through it. Chilly. Great for sunburns or if your skin is extra flushed. If you don't have any burns or irritations going on, I don't see this as a daily use product, more of something like when you want to give yourself a relaxing spa day. It's a nice blend of traditional Korean "grandma's secrets" and modern thermal science. Read more

The Dotori (Acorn) Jelly CoolDown Patch by reii reii is easy to use and feels gentle on the skin. The patches have a nice cooling feeling right away, which can feel good when your skin feels warm or tired. They are made with acorn extract and glacier water, inspired by Korean skincare traditions. The hydrogel patches stay in place well and do not slide off while relaxing. Each patch feels soft and smooth on the skin. I like how these patches help my skin feel very moisturized and soft after using them. The cooling effect is my favorite part because it feels calming and refreshing. They can be nice to use after a workout, a shower, or on days when your skin feels irritated. The patches are comfortable and simple to wear, making them easy to add to a daily routine. Overall, they are a soothing skincare product with a gentle cooling feel Read more

I live in the Southwest, where it is extremely hot for most of the year. I also have a condition where I'm unable to regulate my temperature, and so there are times when I am so overheated that I feel like my head is on fire. I keep fans and cooling towels in my purse at all times, and I'm very interested in any product that could cool me down. I stored these in the bathroom and was bemused that the patches stayed cold to the touch even in a warm room. They were in a nice looking box and came with a little spatula to separate the patches. The patches are extremely thin, so just taking one was difficult. I have no idea how many patches are in the jar, but it appears that it may be a very large amount. I first used them under my eyes when I first woke up to reduce puffiness. The patches are circular and big, so I tore one into two pieces and placed them under my eyes. Even as a half, the patch was big enough to go under my eye and down to my cheek. I loved how cool and relaxing they felt. I wore them for 20 minutes, and at the 20 minute mark, they were room temperature and flatter than they started out as. For 20 minutes they were cool and the ingredients were being absorbed into my skin. Acorn jelly has cooling and soothing effects, can tighten pores, and improve skin texture and elasticity. It also has antioxidants that can protect skin from damage from free radicals, and acorn jelly stimulates the production of hyaluronic acid, important for skin hydration and plumpness. These patches also contain hexanediol, which retains moisture and softens skin, hydroxyacetophonone, which helps sooth skin, and allantoin, which provides a soothing and calming effect on skin, and exfoliates dead skin cells to promote cell regeneration. All the ingredients in the patches are for soothing, calming, and cooling down skin, while moisturizing and hydrating for a more supple and smooth complexion. I recommend these for use after returning from a day out in the heat, for after a workout, or for any time that a cool, relaxing 20 minutes sounds perfect Read more

No clue how to use these as there are no instructions. I assume you just peel off a layer and wipe your face with it so it coats your face. I waited 10 minutes 2ith this on my face and it never dried or hardened so I wiped it off after 10 minutes. Did this a few times to see if I noticed a difference and I failed to see or feel a difference. Maybe someone else has the luck that was so lost on me. Read more
