Dove Men+Care Men's Bar Soap: $17.40 for a 10-pack at the time of review I don’t do a lot of “pampering” things for myself when it comes to skin care. But once a number of years ago I found this soap on the shelf of my local grocery store and even since then, it’s been my one splurge. *What I liked*: This is a nice soap with a normal package. A lot of “manly” soaps have stupid names and macho packaging to appeal to men. This one doesn’t. This is also a 10-pack. It takes a while for me to go through this (a couple of months usually). I prefer to order way ahead like this so I just don’t have to worry about it. The scent is nice. It’s not overdone like some other men’s products (Axe, Old Spice, etc.). It’s just clean and pleasant. I LOVE the little pieces of ground up walnut shell in the soap for texture and scrubbing. It makes my skin feel like $1 million bucks. *What I didn't like*: You know, I don’t really have any complaints. *The Bottom Line:* This is my favorite bar soap ever. Before lockdown I used whatever soap was cheap. Not much discretion. However, when so many toiletries became scarce, my mom (yeah, 50 y/o still needing his mommy) was able to procure in her region wher3e I could not. Besides the partially melted "surprise" chocolate bars, she included Dove soap bars. I have to say, I now know what I was missing. Now, maybe my review has less weight than someone going from a "good" soap to Dove. What I can say is why I like this compared to "just soap". It's moisturizing. As a man, I didn't care about "high maintenance" fluffy stuff. Dude, you have one life. You work hard. What little luxuries you can afford yourself, why not? Besides, no man talks about what soap you use over a beer. At this volume, it's basically $1 a bar. So, cheap soap is just....cheap! Why not inexpensive with a bonus. Now, for the manly part. There's a bit of "grit" as you lather. For me, that's a bonus. When you get dirty fixing the car or doing that remodel or however you get dirty doing the "dirty" work that "grit" adds to getting your crevices and hands that extra touch of clean. Finally, a few talk about the scent. We all have our tastes. This has a mild earthy scent. When I say mild, it's not like a strong perfume, it's just...well...mild. Besides, who's going around smelling soap? Kinda creepy - IMHO. It's Dove. It's meant to be good for those with the most sensitive skin. Having been diagnosed with skin cancer, I, personally, didn't realize how those chemicals in harsher "cheep" soaps, especially those unnecessary perfumes affect the skin. So, five stars here. All around bonus after bonus. At least give it a try. If you don't like it, gift it to that buddy or coworker who could really use a proper clean for Christmas. You know that guy. The scent is the best part of this soap. They have a gren and blue version of this line of soap, I apologize I can not remember what those scents are. I will say the red color is by leaps and bounds my favorite. The 1/4 moisturizer is really nice. I’m not a guy the uses lotion, but my skin feels like I do now. I’m not sure what the grains are inside the bar not to I think they really do anything. They do make you think you are cleaner. I bought this for my husband who has psoriasis. First of all I used Dove growing up. As Dove is a moisturizing bar, Mom always had us take the bars out of the box and lay them out to “dry” until they were needed. I now know this is a curing thing and it truly helps these bars last longer, so for those with that complaint, maybe try that. I got this because of the moisturizing AND exfoliating properties. The smell is strong when you first take it out of the box, but after a couple hours, I only smelled it when I was in the shower with my face right in the soap dish. My husband smells nice with this soap. As for his skin, it has never been less flaky. He forgot to pack a bar on a recent 3 day trip we took and his skin was already starting to flake up again. Lastly, these 10 bars cost barely more than 1 bar of the specialty exfoliating soaps, so I am pumped about that! My husband is still working on the first bar and he got it on Father’s Day. I'm a Barista so my skin is consistantly dry/cracked. I've searched long and hard for the best soap for my skin and honestly feel I found it with this! I personally love the scent and how hydrating/soft it makes your skin/hands even from the first wash. Although these bars don't last as long, at little less than a dollar a bar, I feel like getting ~ 1weeks worth of soap per bar is well worth it. An average bottle of liquid mens body wash runs about $7-8 and last about two weeks for me vs 2 bars @ ~$2 total). In that sense, these bars save you money as well! Personal tip..To help the bar last longer and create an even more deep lather, I also found buying one of those soft shower mitts (and putting the bar in the pocket when showing) helps with the durability of each bar!
