This is a little preliminary because I've just started i5. I just got it today. This kit has far more detail than any other Statue of Liberty micro-block kit I've seen. It's got more pieces just to make the BASE (gold) than all but one of the other kits in their entirety. The one that has more pieces for the kit than the base of this kit only beats it by about 150 pieces! if it maintained the level of detail of the base of this kit, there wouldn't leave much for the statue itself. From my figuring, there are over 850 pieces just for the base of the statue. The entire kits has more than 2500 pieces. That makes for a very detailed statue. The pieces, while small, fit together easier than many micro-block kits. They're not too loose and not too tight. You can actually pull them apart if needed and yet they fit nice and pretty smoothly. Whomever made the instruction book can't count! There is no step 22! It goes from step 20 on one page and then 21 and 23, 24, 25 on the next page -- no 22. That means there are actually only 149 steps to completion, not 150 as shown in the book. As is the case in many lego/lego-like building kits, I need to use my extra close reading glasses to be able to see the exact shape of the pieces in some cases. What looks at first to be a 1 X 6 black piece turned out to be 2 pieces of 1 X 3. The line separating the pieces was not easily seen without my 3x reading glasses (my bifocals didn't help). There is one item missing from the instructions that would be a big help -- especially in cases such as my example above and that is a list of pieces needed for each step at the start of the step. It would be acceptable to make the actual number of steps smaller and have sub-steps to allow for this. Then each page could have the pieces needed for that portion and call it by a step number and a, b, c, ... That list of pieces is important for ease of construction. The box used is slightly too small for the book. It has a 90 degree turn up at the open end because of being squashed into the box at the bottom. None of the problems that I've found so far are enough to cause it to lose a star. Additional note (edited): This SHOULD cause it to lose a star but I won't. I found 2 pieces missing but both could be covered by the extras. In both case, a single piece was replaced by 2 half the size of the missing piece so the change is minimal. However, even with the extra pieces AND counting the pieces for the 2 figures as 7 pieces each, the entire project was 120 pieces BELOW the given count of 2510 pieces. There were only 2390 pieces total in the kit besides the tool to help remove pieces as needed. That is false advertising! Read more

This set took me several hours over about two weeks to complete. With over 2500 pieces, it makes for quite the challenge! Luckily the manufacturer thought ahead and include both a brick separator and a set of really nice, heavy duty stainless steel tweezers. The directions are straightforward and easy to follow, and are done layer-by-layer. As you progress, the previous later is darkened and the new one is shown in proper colors. I had a boo-boo somewhere around her left elbow, and couldn't figure it out. Not sure if it was a wrong placement by me, or if the directions had an error. I was able to improvise and get past it, and get back on track after a few layers. Overall I'm very happy with how it turned out, and it's the perfect size for the top of a bookshelf in my living room. As someone with XL hands, these micro blocks were tricky to work with. If you have average hands and coordination, this set could probably be completed quicker than I did it. The included tools help speed up the process with the smallest blocks, and the directions are printed large enough to be ready easily while assembling. Overall I'd definitely recommend this for someone with experience with standard bricks (major company name here) and following detailed assembly directions. It's not for kids, but teens and adults will certainly enjoy building it! Read more

I want to make this as deliberate and honest as possible. I’m a LEGO fanatic honestly but the ones I wanted got pricy and I wanted a larger piece to work on. As the name implies, the pieces are very small. The largest piece in this set is about the 6th smallest u can get from Lego. Here are my pros and cons after 11 hours of building. Pros: detail is adequate Price is great compared to many other brands In love with the stand it comes with. Accurate to the real statue Cons : Because the pieces are small, they don’t fit very well together sometimes and it KILLED my pointer fingers pushing them down after so long. To points that I had to place a fabric over my finger so I didn’t hurt myself. The set IS NOT IN NUMBERED BAGS OR SEPARATED THIS IS THE BIGGEST CON. I spent one hour and 16 minutes separating the pieces before I could build, you cannot start your build if you do not separate them first. I was missing probably 3 pieces of 2 different types of pieces. I had to completely change 2 levels of the bottom due to not having th r piece I needed. And no, I couldn’t substitute it due to the way it hung off. There’s a lot of extra pieces at the end that are not needed, yes this is great because you always want to have more than less, but missing pieces while also having extra is wild. The durability is less than average. Once you get to the torch and head, it continues to pop in places due to the pieces not fitting together properly and tightly enough. The instructions are confusing at times and I had to take apart the level I was working on probably about 12 times to fix it. Maybe user error but still. Overall: Overall I think I would recommend this set to someone looking for a cheap way to make a detailed and pretty large build. Although I would feel obligated to inform them of the work and time that this truly takes. And including all the cons. Read more
