I despise using bar soaps that won't rinse off, or bar soaps that rinse clean but leave my skin feeling like it's crawling and dry. I have very sensitive skin and eczema. Dr. Bronner's soap products are loved by many people, so I am not telling any of you anything another Bronner fan won't tell you. These soaps are amazing. Yes, you can really use them for laundry soap, household cleaning, and even toothpaste. I buy the soaps for bathing, but if I am ever in a situation where I have forgotten to purchase laundry detergent, Dr. Bronner's works well. It's a gentle but powerful cleanser. Your skin feels hydrated and smells lightly of real almond oil and not chemical almond fragrance. It's a wonderful face soap, and much cheaper if you consider that it only takes a very small amount to create a rich lather. Seriously. Maybe two drops on your fingers for your face, maybe a teaspoon for a washcloth for body washing. It lasts forever because of this. My entire family loves it, even my manly husband who has always preferred the abrasive chemical soaps that supposedly smell of water, mountains, springs and the like. My children request this soap, and when it arrives from Amazon they immediately want to take a bath! When I rave over Dr. Bronner's soaps to others, I feel a similar urge to drop whatever I am doing and rush to the bath to indulge myself in one of the most comforting, and simple pleasures. Bronner's soaps have wonderful scents, but they are natural and subtle on skin. This product would not be for someone who wants to smell as if they just walked out of a Bath & Body Works. This product is for someone who wants to be very clean, have soft skin, and smell like sweet almonds subtly. Read more

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Bronners. I had wanted to try it for quite a while, but hadn't gone around to it until I saw them in the sample section at Target. I thought I would give them a try. I was hooked right away. I love that they are natural, vegetarian soaps made responsibly. I got the lavender and peppermint initially. I like both, but I actually think peppermint is my favorite. I use it every morning and it helps wake me up a little (has a great tingly sensation). After reading about the company history, I decided that even if I hated the soap (which I don't, obviously) I would buy from this company! Their products are made in the USA and their employees are treated wonderfully. They actually practice fair trade and when they say organic, you can actually trust that it is. The company is very active in social causes. There aren't too many companies like this anymore, so I think it is important to support them. My husband was a little skeptical (as usual) but the soap spoke for itself and now he is a convert, too. He is very picky about scents, but he has not complained of a single one. We decided to try the almond scent since there were so many good reviews and we both could agree on it. It smells very much like almond extract, which I love. It goes without saying, though, that if you don't like that smell, then you won't like this particular scent. Like all of the ones I have tried, the scent is quite strong, but natural smelling. Being a natural soap without weird chemicals you can't pronounce, the lather on this is minimal, but you get used to it (once you get over the mindset that the lather is what makes you clean). However, if you must have your lather, adding it to a shower pouf creates an abundance. I have tried the soap for cleaning and it works quite well. I use it on my extremely sensitive and adult acne-prone skin and it has not caused a breakout. It rinses away cleanly. My daughter and I both have eczema and we both have been using this soap without problems. Bottom Line: I cannot recommend this soap or this brand enough! It may seem expensive at first glance, but a little goes a long way. Personally, I think it is worth every penny. Read more

reading the reviews of this product, I was fascinated, and now after using it, I too love it. Mixed half and half with water for the shower, and it lathers great, makes my skin feel nice, and I love how it smells. Today for the first time I used it for my hair, and although washing hair was one of the things that there are mixed reviews for, at least for my hair, I really liked it - it felt kind of hard to rinse out, and I had read about using vinegar for the rinse, but I didn't have any, so just used my regular conditioner I already had in the shower. And for some reason this made my hair appear so much fuller and healthier than usual. So I guess I'll keep on using it and see if it continues to have that effect. And after a bath the other night, I used it full strenght to clean the bathtub - worked great!! So then I ordered peppermint because I thought I might like that smell better for cleaning. But used that this morning in the shower after getting off the treadmill - so refreshing! These big bottles should last a long, long time, so I'm feeling very good about using these natural products and getting away from chemicals. We camp a lot too, so they are perfect for using while camping. Read more
