Consistent high-quality product

This is, without a doubt, is a wonderful addition to my world of watercolor! It has a thick rich consistency and is easily thinned with water. It is opaque out of the bottle and stays a bright white even when dry. When thinned it can used to produce the effect of smoke, clouds, mist, etc. I also wanted to say a big "Thank You!" to Dr. Ph. Martin for the packing of this product. It is such a disappointment when you order art supplies online only to receive them damaged--bent bristles, a pad of paper with a damaged corner, etc. The care in packaging for this glass jar was stellar--great product that came ready to use! Works well

Finally a product that doesn’t bleed through. Makes watercolor painting easier when you need white stars for Christmas or other paintings throughout the year. Read more

Excellent. Can add water to bottle when it gets to dry.

Excellent product. When it gets to dry to use I added 1/4 tsp of purified-distilled water and mixed with a tiny whisk (i have for mixing homemade products) It is creamy and wet again. Wonderful product. Ive had this for a year and 1/2 and just added water today. Read more

Love this!

Perfect for adding details that don’t show well using white ink, makes them pop. Easy to use. Small amount needed. Good consistency. Fair price. Love the finished look. Recommend! Read more

Useful

I used this just a few minutes ago. It does dry out, but with a wet brush it comes back and is perfectly fine. Read more

The media could not be loaded. Dr. Ph. Martin's Bleed Proof White is the go-to opaque white for calligraphy, watercolor and mixed media, but there are a few things you should know about it before you get started. Or before you freak out and throw it away or return it. Keep reading to learn more... First, this water-based and thus not permanent. According to their website, "Dr. Ph. Martin's Bleedproof White is an opaque watercolor for covering dye colors, markers, and designer colors." It is bleed proof when used correctly. If using to cover up watercolor that has bleed under tape or that you accidentally put in a space you meant to leave white it will not bleed when placed on top of dried watercolor paint/paper. However, you cannot put watercolor over the top of it. It is not permanent. It will mix into your watercolor paints as a previous reviewer learned the hard way. It is extremely opaque and good for covering up DRIED watercolor, dye or ink. Second, if your product arrives gloopy or dries out quickly; no fear! It is not ruined. This is a water-based product and as such you can add an itty bitty bit of distilled water to the jar and mixed it up to get the consistency you desire. Inky Nib Calligraphy has a blog post and YouTube video about it. Go check her out. It's not long, but more detailed than my review/video. I have hard water and so have distilled on hand for various things. She doesn't use distilled, but I would if mixing it in the jar. Especially, because I don’t go through this quickly. I don't want mold. If you don't have distilled water on hand simply take a tiny amount out using a clean implement of your choosing and mixed elsewhere. I used a toothpick and called it a Q-tip in the video! Lol Overall, I am extremely happy with this product. It makes the best stars via splattering, which is the main way I use it. #artnerd #spacenerd PS/ My video mentions Index Card A Day. #ICAD This is an annual art event where everyone makes art on Index cards during the month of June & July (61 days). Prompts available and optional. Interested? Do a search online or Instagram. Fun and free. Mine in the photo/video is from the prompt "midnight." Read more

Dip nib in warm water for best use

Great for wedding stationary calligraphy. You have to dip the pen in the ink then in warm water and back until it flows from the nib. It’s a bid coagulated and thick at first so you have to find the write balance. Don’t directly pour water in it though, let it naturally dilute going back and forth with the nib dipping into the white ink and dipping into a warm cup of water and swirling around. Read more
