This air conditioner works! I have had 4 portable air conditioners in my room from all different brands and this one cools better and works better than any of them. I had to buy another one because my other one by a different brand and almost the same price did not keep the room cool and it was the same btu capacity. My room is location on the fourth floor of down town LA so it gets crazy hot in the summer even sometimes in the winter. It's so great to use the app and it can be turned on while I'm at work so the room is nice and cool when I get home. I barely need to clean the screens and app tells me when I need to clean it. It never leaks or drips and set up is supper easy. I would for sure buy this again! Plus let me add it super quiet unlike any other portable air conditioner I have ever had. Worth the price. I spent 9 hours looking for a good AC unit for my man cave, which gets 78-90 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer and 80% humidity. I researched for hours and read all the reviews on over 200 portable AC units. I kept coming back to this one. I needed one for my football and cigar smoking room. I bought this one and so very happy that I did. This thing is a beast. My room is 650 square feet, so I needed a 14,000 BTU unit. My ceiling is 10 feet high. The build quality is super. This company definitely knows how to make quality products. I never heard of them before. This thing is awesome. WOW, I'm very impressed. I have it 6 feet from my recliner and even at low speed is over kill. Forget on high speed. Way too much air and cold for me. I love this unit. It is quiet enough for me. Definitely not for sleeping. Even on low the fan is loud. Honesty it's perfect for me. It blows cold. I mean way too cold. I have to raise it to 70. Any lower and I'm freezing. If you want a great unit, definitely get this one. It will cool entire 700 square foot room in 1 hour. Every 15 minutes drops the temperature down 3 degrees Fahrenheit. The cool air on your body feels awesome. I'm very pleased that I bought this. I love the large front display. Super bright blue ring. You can turn this off at night. The remote is awesome. It is very large with a large LCD screen that lights up. So many features this has. It took me 10 minutes to set up. Overall, I highly recommend this anyone. I should have bought this in May when I really needed it. I'm glad I have it now. Read more

Update 8/20/25 As a recap: 1) I live in an old home with old, outdated electrical wiring. 2) I live in the southeastern region of the US where temps are typically above 80 degrees Fahrenheit between May and October. The latest heatwave just ended a day ago. My biggest concern was the A/C drawing too much power to keep up with the sweltering temperatures. The Drea unit did very well. I did trip the breaker that it's plugged into twice. Not totally unexpected. It happened once Sunday and once Monday. The compressor never turned off. The unit was able to continuously cool. My only issue is that the screen in front of the A/C that shows the status (mode, temp, etc.) hasn't stayed lit since the first time the unit shut off. This hasn't impacted performance. If I change anything, for example the temperature, the little screen will light up briefly. And then turn off again. There were no instructions or troubleshooting techniques that addressed this in the manual. I honestly don't care. But I just wanted to be transparent and share that one little thing. Again, this hasn't impacted the unit's performance at all. I'm sure there's a way to fix it. The Drea brand A/C continues to be a great investment. ####End up 8/20/25 update#### I received this air conditioner yesterday, August 8, 2025. And set it up this morning. I will update this review after a few months to chronicle my experience. I live in the southeast of the United States where we experience hot temperatures from about May to October. So, I expect to use the A/C for two more months. The Dreo air conditioner is such a vast improvement from my old portable unit. In May 2021, I purchased a Luko 3 in 1 9000 BTU unit from Amazon. Our central air stopped working. The temps were rising. And we needed something to keep cool. I had little knowledge of portable air conditioner units. So I went with one that I assumed would be a good brand at an affordable price. I was wrong. The Luko was a terrible purchase that was too expensive at $319 for the quality and performance. The hose was cheap. It only offered one window extension piece that was too long for our windows. I could only use the main piece and added cardboard to cover up the the window screen. The unit would easily overheat, causing the compressor to shut off and switch to fan only. As a matter of fact, the unit itself would create heat, making it hard to reap the benefits of the cooling function. But, it was better than nothing. A week and a half ago, the Luko unit stopped working. In the middle of a heat wave. But I was determined not to make the same mistake again. So I took my time and researched portable air conditioners. Dreo ended up as a brand on my short list. It was between that one and the Whynter unit voted best portable A/C by Good Housekeeping. I went with the Dreo. So far, I think I made a great choice. Set up was relatively easy. The only thing complicating the process was the window that I am using. We live in an old home with original windows. Despite that, I was able to set up the window kit using one of the extensions provided. The instructions were very simple to follow. The hose is high quality and connected very easily. I didn't have to use duct tape to keep anything in place like I did with the Luko. The unit is set to cool when you turn it on. And oh boy! It feels GOOD!!!! I have it on 65 degrees because I need it to cool the front part of the house from a back bedroom. The unit has been running for a few hours, and I already feel a significant difference in the temperature. I've been surviving with 3 fans (and a swamp cooler when necessary). I only have one fan going right now. I'll see how things hold up when it warms up later in the day. It's 11:41 AM now. The unit is so quiet compared to my old Luko. I keep getting up to check it to see if it has tripped the surge protector, lol. Because I can't hear it in the room where I'm watching TV. The Luko A/C was loud and used a lot of energy. And it would shut off quite often. I do not anticipate that being a problem with the Dreo based on other reviews. But, I'll definitely update here if this becomes a recurring problem. I don't know if I'll use the dehumidifier mode. I'll be sure to share my feedback if I do. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. I got one of the brands I wanted at my desired price point, which was $400 max. The unit was $390 with the 15% off coupon. Activating the warranty only took a few minutes. You have to create an account and provide basic info like the model number and order number. Consider this brand and model if you're looking for a good portable air conditioner. As someone who got a really terrible unit before, this A/C is a vast improvement. Read more

I love this. Iโve been using it for about a week now and it keeps my bedroom and connected bathroom cool in 90-100 degree dry weather. Itโs pricey, but it does work well. Iโm considering buying another for my living room for the summer because we frequently get temps up to 108 degrees. Up until this point Iโve been using a portable swap cooler to keep our main living area cool during the summer which works but is very loud and requires windows to be kept open to avoid moisture in the home. This portable AC is much smaller than the swamp cooler that I need for the same area, much less noisy and honestly probably cools better. My only complaint is that I had a little trouble with set up. I watched multiple videos, and maybe it was user error but I struggled getting the window pieces together in a way that wouldnโt leave spots for outside air to seep through. I used much more of the foam than suggested to keep the window pieces sealed tightly. I did have enough foam but I got close to running out. My window is also the largest that you can use for this product and I felt like the slats werenโt very sturdy when everything was fully extended. Eventually with a lot of work and extra foam I was able to make things airtight. Also the hose is a bit tricky to connect to the window slat. It has two buttons you have to hold in and when you let go itโs supposed to grab onto the window slat. I tried for 5-10 minutes, almost gave up thinking I had a defective hose and then finally it somehow snapped into place. So the set up was a bit frustrating for me, however, I would still buy this unit again because once I got everything set up and working it really works great. Read more
