Beautiful gift worthy silk eye mask with a lighter weight that’s lovely in summer or if you’re trying to protect your lashes. I ended up purchasing a second one as part of a gift bag for my sister who is in recovery from breast cancer. The light blockage is excellent, it doesn’t pull too tight, and it’s incredibly soft. I wash mine with gentle shampoo in the shower (like my silk pillow cases, since silk = also a protein,) and that’s worked very well so far. This is a nice, lightweight sleep mask. Feels silky smooth. The velcro on the back is okay; not a biggie for me since I'm usually a side sleeper but occasionally it can feel a little uncomfortable if I roll onto my back and I can feel the velcro layers behind the back of my head. It blocks out most of the light, but not perfectly (I could see light from the bottom of the mask in the morning). There's something humorous about the pointed obvious where the word "DROWSY" is embroidered on this mask, but wonder if that adds to the luxury/fashionable charm of the product. This is definitely a gentle hand wash, cold water with mild soap type of mask. I like to air dry mine to preserve the longevity of the delicate silk material. Agreed that the price point is crazy steep. Not many people can afford this product, so I imagine this is marketed for the high end, luxury loving crowd. I really like this style of eye mask. It is a soft, padded mulberry silk. Wrap around style, fastened by Velcro. Very comfortable and soothing. The mask lies directly on your eyes, there is no carve out, but I truly like this style more than deep carve out of many other masks. And I have tried many. I compare this to the comfort one would get from a weighted blanket. The mask is not weighted, but the slight touch of the silk against your face and eyes is strangely comforting and relaxing. The mask comes packaged beautifully in a nice well thought out slide out box. It feels and looks like luxury. Simply wonderful. The only concern I have is that the care instructions for the mask are written in very small print on a tag on the mask. Since this is a high-end mask, care instructions should be provided on a card tucked into the box with the mask. This is an investment and should be cared for properly, such as washing and drying correctly. No one should have to search for information on care for a product. It should be easy to find and read. This soft eye shield is extremely comfortable. The silky texture of it feels cool against your skin which is great if the reason you need it is for a migraine. It blocks out all light if you have it on properly. The color is a soft rosy pink. While it has a little thickness to it, it is extremely light weight and made of good quality materials. The only problem that I have with it is the velcro. I tend to toss and turn in my sleep. This causes the velcro sometimes to come unhooked or to catch in my hair. Most people probably won't have an issue with this, but it is a problem that I encountered. In order to prevent this, I also have to wear a do-rag to prevent it from hooking in my hair. This is really a very luxurious sleep mask. As others have noted, it is the style that rests flat against your eyes, so if that is a concern for you, this may not be your cup of tea. In all other ways, it is simply delicious. The adjustability of the velcro ensures a good fit with no tightness or pressure, the padding is ample, and the silk is, by nature, wonderfully cool against the skin. The dusty rose color is more sophisticated and elegant then a 'pinkier' pink, and the packaging with the pull tab of grossgrain ribbon is very attractive. For someone like me, this mask would be a difficult to justify Indulgence. However, it would make a wonderful gift for a frequent traveler, a new mother, a third-shift healthcare worker -- you name it! Add a small bottle of lavender linen spray, a travel pillow with a silk pillow case, and a couple of high-end chocolates and you'll have a gift to be remembered! Read more
