This sleep mask is so comfortable. The silk quality and the feel on the skin is amazing. I use this every night - not just for travel and the manufacture and design is really nice. It fits my face and is completely adjustable with a very easy to use design. It doesn't completely create black out conditions - but it does a great job for most sleeping conditions - with the bonus being that it is just so comfortable to sleep in. The midnight shadow color is a purple-grey, I assumed it was a true black, so I was a little surprised when I opened the packaging. It arrives in a very nice box, it looks premium, with a hard plastic window on top, like a mini display case. The included black envelope, with 2 information cards, felt super premium, a rich thick velvety paper. Every aspect of the packaging was high end and perfect for gifting. I like to think I know a thing or two about sleep masks, since I've been wearing them nightly for over a decade. I switched from synthetic velvet and memory foam filling years ago when the dangers of synthetic fabrics became big news, I wanted a healthy natural fabric that would not leach dangerous chemicals and micro plastics. Silk and cotton were the only alternatives. Silk has the added benefit of not causing any creasing or wrinkles on your skin. Silk also feels better, it's cooling and breathable, and comfortable to wear overnight against your skin. Nothing feels more luxurious than silk. The interior of the mask is filled with silk--this is a rarity amongst masks made from silk. Most use filling that is synthetic. The natural silk interior padding lets the mask breathe, so air can circulate and heat can better dissipate making it ideal for hot sleepers. When I first put the mask on, I could feel it against my eyes (and eyelashes), it was not uncomfortable, but it was noticeable and at first, a little distracting. The velcro closed well and did not cause any damage to the silk when I misaligned it--you can connect the velcro on your own by reaching behind your head, it's easy to open and close. If you don't get the velcro connected just right, that's okay, as long as some of it is sticking together, the mask will stay on. Taking off the mask is easy, it slips off w/o any effort. The mask is comfortable on, but it did not keep out 100% of the light, I had light intrusion no matter how tight I secured the velcro closure, or how high or low I placed the strap on the back of my head. The 2 sections that cover the eyes have angled bottoms, like triangles, these "flaps" kept bending up, and this allowed more light to creep in. I also had some difficulty getting the mask to stay on straight. One last thing I would really like to see in a mask at this price point, is an Oeko-Tex certification. This shows that fabrics are made w/o harmful chemicals and dyes. In a mask is selling for a premium, a high premium, I expected a little bit more. Read more

Well, what can you say about an eye mask? It feels soft and silky and isn't heavy feeling like some others I've had. It breathes well. It washes well also, but did get a little wrinkly looking. It presented well and would make a nice gift. I can't say that I think the value is really there. I'd never pay so much for an eye mask, but it does look really premium. the velcro works well and it fits well also. It blocked the light completely and I slept well while wearing it. It stayed on through the night and I didn't have any trouble with it. I don't have anything negative to say about it, so I guess it's a good eye mask. Read more

The Drowsy Featherweight Silk Sleep Mask comes in a very fancy box that has a sliding insert so your mask can be kept inside to keep dust off of it. The box makes for a very nice gift giving experience. With the box and a $60 (originally $80) price tag, this is a sleep mask that I feel celebrities would endorse. As for me, yes it’s nice, but not $60 nice. The mask is made from Mulberry silk which is known for its fine texture, softness, and durability. Because of this it is usually more expensive than other silks. I did find the mask to be very soft and silky which felt nice against my face and eyes, and didn’t put any creases in my hair. The silk does help some when turning, but it still moved around some. Since Mulberry silk is supposed to be durable, I’m hoping this sleep mask will last for a long time. It is lightweight and didn’t make my face get hot. This is a huge plus for me. As for the construction, I do like the very wide band with a large swath of Velcro to help adjust how tight the mask is around my head. I did have it go over my ears which worked fine for me and didn’t end up hurting my ears. I tried to wear it with the band above my ears and that was really uncomfortable. Since its not contoured around the eyes, some light does get in around the nose area and you can see it if you open your eyes. But with my eyes closed it was dark and did what it supposed to. But there were times when I flipped and it rode up some and I had to readjust it. Not the worst thing in the world, but light would get in then. It is a nice sleep mask. I love the name, Moonlight Shadow and how it’s presented in the box. I am very happy it’s so soft and lightweight. I like the large Velcro band and how comfortable it is to sleep with, even on my back, since I was concerned the Velcro would annoy me when sleeping that way. It does not always completely block the light, but with this type of mask I don’t think any really can. This silk sleep mask is absolutely luxurious! The 100% mulberry silk feels incredibly soft and gentle on my skin and hair, which I really appreciate.
