A unique floss with great attributes and a couple caveats

This has been my go-to floss for a number of years now. It has some unique properties that make it superior to mass-market brands. It gets thinner as you tug on the ends, then expands back out when you let up, especially when wet. This way, it's easy to get in between the teeth, yet it doesn't cut into the gums the way thinner floss can. I reckon it also cleans better because of this effect. It's also quite strong; I've only rarely had it snap, though when it does, it can get stuck in pretty good. Watch out for it fraying—that's a sign you should discard and unspool a fresh span. Do that, and you shouldn't have a problem. Finally, a word about the dispenser: it used to be plastic, but a couple years ago, the manufacturer switched to paper. While this is more environmentally friendly, the paper dispenser can fall apart if you get it repeatedly wet. Read more
