New federal rules about packaging have made opening a pack of hearing aid batteries a difficult chore (I’m looking at you Amazon). But Duracell has figured out how to make the package safe but not impossible for aging hands to open. And the batteries have a decent lifespan. Thanks, Duracell. Read more

I have purchased most brands available, looking for easy-open hearing aid battery packs. Those days are gone. I suppose this is for the greater good and is a new regulation put in place to protect children from swallowing batteries, so I will accept it and move on with my life. I purchased this 2-pack of Duracell hearing aid batteries in size 312. The packs have 8 batteries each, so in total, that's 16 batteries. These fit my hearing aids perfectly and are a good value for the price. As previously stated, you will need scissors to open the individual packs. When you cut the pack open, it reveals a clear plastic covering over the batteries, which is easy to peel away, revealing the battery. This is a nice compromise to the old way, and I will be happy to deal with it. It makes it a little easier to have batteries on the go. Read more

The batteries are most likely fine. However, the packaging is unacceptable. It may have been mandated by government action in response to a tragic accident with a battery and a youngster. I am still more than capable of handling these things regardless of the packaging but other HA users may not be that fortunate. A better answer than fooling around with sharp instruments in close quarters to remove the things. Let me stress in all this by the way that this is not the vendor's fault nor is it fully the manufacturers fault. Although these manufacturers do have packaging engineers that could come up with better designs. Anyway, product probably fine, packaging stinks. Read more

Add my name to the List of Negative Reviews!!! OK, so I have been wearing hearing aids for over 50 years. Yes 50 years--not a typo--I lost over 50% of my hearing in a car accident when I was only 16! So I am no stranger to hearing aids or hearing aid batteries. Previously, I bought hearing aid batteries in whatever store I happened to be in when I realized I was going to be needing them. However, after the last two purchases of another name brand with the ridiculous circular wheel of "bank vault plastic" that needs to be cut with scissors (make that more like a chain saw), I vowed never to purchase that brand again. So onto Amazon and "Oh Joy" they have the "old style" in the little snap open plastic cases. WRONG!!! The picture this seller is showing is not what you get. You get the dreaded "bank vault" plastic cases that must be cut with scissors. Unfortunately for me, I had no other batteries at home so I kept these and tried to pry them open as best as possible. Now for the best surprise! They are "Duracell" -- the premium brand -- but so far 5 of the 16 batteries either do not work at all or die is less than 2-5 minutes after insertion. The one I am wearing now seems to be holding but I am not holding my breath for how long it will last. Two Points to take away from this review -- the seller has not updated his listing to show new packaging and the batteries he does send out in the "new" packaging are either defective or out-of-date. I don't know the expiration date of these since the first battery I used was just fine and I took the dreaded circular trays off the main card for easier storage. This seller needs to update his listing and refund/replace all the users he has deceived. Will it happen?? Judging from all the other negative reviews, a snowball has a better chance of not melting in hell than you or I do of getting any kind of refund/replacement from the seller. Read more
