There are really not that many belts of this type out there for one to be choosy. But this one is nice quality, holds the katana very well, and will last for years. It is way better than using a standard belt. Whatever level you are at this will help with your practice. Now there are a zillion ways to tie this. Some are fancy knots and some are simple. I opted for simple and functional since I am not the best at knots. At least it allows the option to be versatile. So on to the price. 35.00 and 10 shipping. I think the 10 shipping is high and could have been shipped from California cheaper ways. As for the 35.00...well, to me this is a specialty item. I'm not going to deny it. I love putting this thing on. It puts me in the zone regardless of my previous mood. I use the obi over an Aikido jacket for daily katana practice at home and it works perfectly. It's so comfortable it disappears in use. With a proper knot and wrap, it does not move or slip.
