They’re what you expect. The paper is medium thickness, sturdy but the cardboard is on the thin side but it works just fine. The perforation works well and they’re a good value for the cost. Read more

A note pad is a lawyers best friend. Whether I am at a deposition glaring at opposing counsel, in court during a motion sending silent prayers to the judge for relief, or at a client interview, a legal pad is an indispensable accessory. I do have an iPad which I also use for writing notes, but there is something uniquely tangible using an actual notepad. When I am done scribbling my notes, I take pictures and save them to my iPad or phone. This product comprises three notepads or legal pads. They're exactly like any other notepads that I have used throughout my career as an attorney. Because I work from home a lot, these are quite useful, in that I am able to perform as I would, if I were at the office. I did not want to ask for permission to take supplies from the office and bring them home. Therefore, I am acquiring my own. Writing on these was flawless. I would recommend this product. Read more
These are reasonably good pads: The paper holds rollerball ink without bleeding through or smearing. The lines are clear and crisp, although legal ruled is a wide rule. The cardboard backing is very thick and stiff and provides good support. The pages tear off cleanly. BUT: (1) The lines are legal ruled, which means they are wide and you get fewer lines on each page. My preference is for the narrower college-ruled paper (even though I'm 50 years past college). (2) The price is very high compared with pads of similar quality on Amazon and at the big retail stores. Read more

The paper itself is fine, the cardboard backing is sufficient. If you're just going to fold pages over the top, then this is a great product. But if you intend to tear out any pages, be aware that this does have perforation to help with tearout, but it's not at the edge of the strip of red cardstock at the front (with the brand printed on it), but up underneath the red strip by about an eighth of an inch. You can put your thumb on the red strip of cardstock and pull up to get a clean tear, but it's not at the perforation (which is fine, a tear is a tear) but what's the point of having any perforation at all, then? When you put your thumb down, you'll need to move it with each tug on the paper. You won't be able to get a clean one-tug tear. But the result is a straight line, if a little fuzzy due to the lack of perforation at the tear line. Tearing "away" just does not work at all. There's definitely a technique to getting the pages to tear cleanly. Read more
Perfectly unremarkable notepads, in a good way. No loose pages, sloppy glue, warped boards, bad smell - just good old basic 8.x5 x 11 notepads. I plan to carry mine in a padfolio in my rolling briefcase and it should fit fine. Confusingly these have "legal" a couple of times in the description but they are regular letter size NOT legal size. The paper itself is also as expected. I'd order these again and would be interested in other products from E-CLIPS. I may actually buy more, the 12 pack for $17 seems like a pretty exceptional deal if you tend to run through legal pads. Read more
