Bright, nice color, but bulb is warm

I bought this as a "reading" light, and it was great because there's no flicker, and is just a shaving longer than regular light bulbs. Light output was very good, and it definitely improved reading especially on paperbacks. One minor complaint about this product is due to its compactness (or lack of external transformer), it cramped all the voltage changing circuit inside a small body, causing the bulb to heat up while use. I would estimate it to be almost as hot as a typical CFL bulb. I couldn't help but wonder the efficiency of this light bulb. Read more
