This is a very good product and worked really well. I just needed a bit of extra room in a pair of expensive sneakers that my daughter bought me. I didn’t want to return them and decided to give these stretchers a try. I really like the precise control of the adjustment and was never worried about damaging the shoes. These generally work ok and the price is right, but the plastic construction is a bit suspect -- I broke one after being a little too aggressive with a stretch, which wasn't entirely surprising given the material. For occasional, light-duty use they're probably fine. But if you plan on stretching more than a couple of pairs of shoes, wooden stretchers are genuinely worth the extra money and won't leave you wondering if they're about to snap on you.
