BOTTOM LINE UP FRONT: Glad I bought this scale and Journal! This scale, with the Calorie King Food & Exercise Journal, far exceed my expectations. After 30 years in the Marine Corps I have developed an appreciaton for nutrition and exercise. Calories always left me bemused. Theoretically I got it but practical application remained a mystery until combining these two great products. My eye for portions has been re-calibrated and my comprehension of caloric intake and exertion (exersize) suddenly became cristal clear. As I am on Warfarin, the ability to keep tabs on my vitamin K intake is the reason I chose this scale. However, the quality and accuracy are certainly reasons to consider it, too. Yes, the platform is a bit small for a full-size plate. I off-set the plate and turn on the backlight and the problem is solved. If you want a top-of-the-line product that performs well beyond the norm this is the scale for you. The Calorie King Journal is in a class by its self. The website that supports the journal is magnificent. Read more

After getting the scale and putting on a banana, I found out that the morning banana I was eating has over 200 calories in it, which was double what I thought I was eating, not to mention double the carbs too! If you have /never weighed your foods, you are in for a real treat.... This scale also has a back light you can turn off or on, which is great for older eyes. I would highly recommend this scale. I absolutely love it!! I had some high lab results & my Dr. put me on a low carb, low sugar diet.
