These socks are incredibly thick and provide ample warmth. Last Christmas break, I visited a snowy mountain, and paired with my snow boots, they kept me from feeling too cold outdoors. Bought 2 packs of these socks, one set for myself and my husband and the other set for my rabbits. We have outdoor rabbits that have water bottles that hang off the side of their cage. We put the sock over the waterer to help it from freezing. It has helped keep the water from freezing solid so far. Currently outside temps have been 20 degrees or lower at night. The socks are nice and thick and help keep my tootsies warm during winter. They aren't tight but stay in place. Read more

These are my favorite socks. I wear them all the time in the winter. Adds some extra cushion in my boots, and my feet stay drier and warm because of the merino. If you wear them often for hunting and work, you can expect them to last about 4-6 months. Read more

The description states 5% spandex and "The Wool Socks is blend of premium cashmere, merino wool and cotton". The label states: 35% wool, 36% polyester, 24% cotton, 5% spandex. I have attached a scan of the label. Made in China. The socks fit good so far. They are not overly thick, but do have a nice cushiony feel to them. I have not laundered them yet since I just received them so I do not know how they will hold up to a washing. There are special laundering symbols but I doubt I will follow those closely, maybe air dry them since they seem to not want a spin in the dryer. I wash clothes like a person does, not like a corporate laboratory does. Whites and colors separate. These socks are colors, right? :). The tops of the socks do not bind my legs so that is a plus. They are very soft feeling. The colors are great, not too flashy but not too dull. Edit: Still a bit perturbed about the false description about the material making the socks. It has been noted by numerous reviewers that the description is misleading. These are not just a wool/cotton blend. There is more synthetic material than what the description on Amazon states. It should be changed to reflect the actual makeup of the sock material. After a few months of wearing these socks I have found them to be too short. They do not go up far enough on the calf so it feels uncomfortable. The heel pocket is not right so the socks tend to slide down the foot. They also seem to pill a lot.
