I've used this on some shoe issues and it works pretty well, although I haven't really kept the shoes very long after repairing them. I've actually purchased this for repairing small snags in our Berber carpets in a couple of our rooms. It stays, clear and takes a couple of minutes to fully set up, which works well while I'm pushing the snags back down into the rest of the pile of the rug. On the package, it will tell you to use the product in a well-ventilated area. Listen to what it says, this is not a kitchen-table project. At least I was smart and put down many, many layers of newspaper beneath my shoes, both worn through at the heel slightly. The stench of this stuff, I had to go outside my apartment and leave the windows open for a while. But it works great, there is now a clear forcefield on the heels of my shoes! It comes out fast, and lives up to its name. This stuff is goey. I suggest making a brush out of newspaper, you're not going to want to keep anything you apply this stuff with. The package also says not to touch it, and judging by how readily it bonded to all the paper and shoe it touched, I'm glad I managed to keep it off myself. I actually wish I had thought to wear gloves of some kind, but since I was very careful I didn't end up needing any. Don't let it touch you, this stuff is gooey. This glue is the best you'll get for permanent repairs. It repaired a pair of lacrosse expensive boots that were well broke in but needed the soles reglued. It was better than new when the glue dried. Follow the directions and you'll be satisfied. Read more
