These have really helped my system. My thermostat is on a wall that is also the return duck going up into the attic. Because of this I have never had correct reading from the thermostat, and I have had two different ones. This one you can change the reading by setting a correction value but this still did not help me. In warmer temps it needed one setting and another in cooler. It was annoying. I got these and placed one in the kitchen and the other in the living room. What I found they do is communicate with the thermostat and they create an average temperature for the house. This has made the readings much more consistent and accurate. I am much happier now and was able to remove the temperature correction from the thermostat. They were extremely easy to set up. These work well and easily connect to an ecobee SMART thermostat. The are placed in different rooms. The thermostat reads the sensor temp and if the room is occupied uses that information to increase or decrease temperature so all occupied rooms are comfortable. Works well for multilevel homes. I added the ecobee Smart Sensor 2-Pack to pair with my Ecobee thermostat, and they honestly make a bigger difference than I expected. Before using the sensors, my thermostat was mainly reacting to the temperature in the hallway. Now it actually pays attention to the rooms people are in, which is how it should work. Setup was simple — each sensor paired quickly through the Ecobee app, and mounting them was easy. They’re compact and look clean on the wall or shelf. Once connected, the sensors help balance temperatures in commonly used rooms, so I’m no longer freezing in one room while the hallway is perfectly comfortable. The occupancy detection works well too; when nobody is in a room, the system doesn’t waste energy trying to keep that space conditioned. What I appreciate most: • Better temperature balance across the house • HVAC doesn’t run as often when no one is home • The app automatically prioritizes “occupied rooms” for comfort • Range has been reliable — no connection drops so far If I had to nitpick, the included stands are very minimal, and battery replacement will be needed eventually. But overall, these sensors are pretty much essential if you already own an Ecobee thermostat. Bottom line: If you want your Ecobee to actually follow where you and your family spend time — not just the hallway thermostat location — this 2-pack is worth it. Loved these when i first bought them. My thermostat is on the second level and we sleep on the third floor so the temperature difference is about 10 degrees in summer. We wanted to make sure the upstairs was cool enough for us at night and this can be used at the temp beacon at times when you choose. Works great when it is working but when my power went out they had trouble reconnecting automatically. One reconnected well after a few attempts and the other did not. This was only two months after i bought them. Buying anew battery to see if that is the issue. Will update. Read more

The ecobee Smart Sensors hook into the app and ecobee thermostat super easy. Really little to no configurations at all, simply scan the QR code on the sensor and the app finds it and adds it to your thermostat. Not everyone needs additional sensors, but for me this was a must. The only thermostat that is installed is in the ecobee Smart Thermostat and it is installed in an area that does not see people cross its path very often. When it thinks that there is no one home it then stops heating or cooling to save energy (good thing). The bad part is when we don't go past the thermostat it thinks no one is home and the house either gets super cold or very hot until we go past the thermostat or manually adjust in the app. With these little sensors, you can have them in areas that people are in and it registers that someone is home and keeps the Heat or AC running. Some people may say why not turn of the the ability of the thermostat so it just stays on. Well, that defeats the purpose of a smart thermostat, and I do want it to be able to automatically turn the heating off and on if we are really not at home. I use these to light up our stairs at night without needing to turn a bright light on. They illuminate very well so that you don't need any other light. I bought six of them and they individually light up as you go up the stairs. I like that they are LED so you don't need batteries. For me the charge last about 10 days and I don't have to charge all of them at once. I just grab a couple and put them on the charger and during the day. They are sleek and modern looking. The installation was super easy and quick. I love how they are placed and removed with the magnet that is attached. The quality is good and the price is very reasonable. Read more

I bought a house that already had an Ecobee thermostat installed. The previous owner took the smart sensors with him, so I got this 2 pack, 1 for the living room, 1 for the bedroom. They work great! My living room runs hotter then the area the thermostat is in, and my bedroom runs cooler, so this let's the system adjust the temp much better without me having to change any settings. I did have an issue pairing them at first. Removing the thermostat from the wall and putting it back to reboot it solved the issue, and they paired right away. Read more
