ECOHUB 17 Travel Backpack Personal Item Backpack with 13 Pockets Flight Approved Carry on Backpack with USB Port

I watched so many youtube videos before I found and purchased this one. I really didn't want to spend over $200 on a bag, but I felt like I should probably splurge, since I will be traveling a lot with it. I am trying to travel as light as possible because I would like to go just one bag so I have the freedom of travelling around without dragging a big carryon bag around. Well, this one is only 1.6lbs, which is lighter than almost all of the expensive backpacks I have seen reviewed. The way it's compartmentalized is perfect. I love the way it has the luggage style inside with plenty of room to pack flat or use packing cubes inside, and then a really nice size pocket besides that for snacks and tech etc, and the outer pocket which has plenty of room for things like folded hats, paperwork, travel cables, clothes lines, etc. (Don't keep passport in there since it's on the outside.) The middle pocket zips all the way around, which I like, so you can open it up as wide as you like (secure the zipper on the TOP of the bag, not the sides, for security) The straps and the back of it are padded and comfy. I haven't tested how waterproof it is and hope I don't have to lol. It is very sturdy cloth (?), though. I like to put pins on my backpacks, and it was hard to get the pin through the fabric. I probably defeated the purpose of the waterproofness by doing that, but that's ok because it was just on the outer pocket, plus, since it was so hard to push them through, I imagine it will be fine. The zippers are SO smooth. I can just pull it open. That's something that's super important to me, because I have a lot of pain in my hands and opening zippers is hard and painful for me. But the zipper also seems very sturdy. I'll be testing it out. I won't be stuffing it full and tight, though. The 80% rule is pretty good. Another good thing about the zippers is that they have holes big enough in the pull to be able to use the tiny biners to lock the zippers together. You could use a small lock if you wanted, too. I like that extra ability for security. Plus, it looks cool. :) Overall, it's a super great value! I'm so glad I found it. It's perfect in every way for me. It will easily carry everything I need for a trip anywhere, for as long as I want. One note: depending on the airline, it might be too large to be a personal item and might need to be put in the overhead bin (or god forbid, gate checked). I will try to get by with it, though! I think it will be a good size for buses in Mexico and not be needed to be thrown under the bus. We'll see and I will report back about these things. Read more

Great travel bag that fits in most “personal item” containers as long as you don’t over stuff it. Quality material with many different pockets and features like a side pocket for water bottle and a charger port to charge directly from the bag. Also has two zippers with holes for added security to add tsa approved locks. Sleek style while maintaining a large capacity for all the clothes and necessities. I just received this hybrid backpack/small suitcase and am impressed with its design, quality, and appearance. It looks like it will function well to maximize capacity and efficiency as an airline carry-on. The rectangular shape (rather than tapered at the top like a traditional backpack) creates additional space, and the bag can sit flat on the padded surface to unzip on three sides like a suitcase. The backpack elements of the design include a well padded back and shoulder straps, plus a zippered compartment that opens from the top for easy access to items while in flight. Three smaller zippered compartments on the outside provide handy storage for miscellaneous smaller items. The water bottle pocket seems generously sized. The PERFECT size for American Airlines, lots of room with the square shape and opening, well made, takes a large water bottle easily with a stretchy and tall side water bottle pocket, lots of pockets, color is just like the photo. I tested with a little water on it and it is slightly water resistant, but you can see after the water initially rolls off it soaks in. I don't think you can Scottsguard it because it's made of plastic water bottles (? so not sure why not waterproof, if true). But, it's so nice for underseat personal item that I'm keeping it and will use a more water resistant day pack once in my location. I took one star off because it says it's waterproof and it's not. Took this bag on my first trip, a week long two city trip with four segments of flying across three different airlines. Enough travel to get a good sense on the performance of the bag. Overall, the bag worked better than the two other bags it replaced. On my initial outbound flight, I had 2 laptops, two books, a notebook, a half dozen shirts and all sorts of gadgets and toiletries. With the books and the two laptops, the bag definitely felt heavy and my shoulders were a little sore when I arrived. On my next segment, I removed the books and notebook and the weight was just about right for me. I found the rugged handle at the top of the back very handy, and the band on the back of the bag to allow the bag to be secured on a handle rails of a roller bag is also very useful as you don't have to hold the bag while rushing through the airport. The bag fits perfectly under the tightest aisle seat compartment. The bag's main compartment is very roomy, however, keep in mind that the bag has limited padding so fragile items will not be well protected on their own. Overall the bag appears to be well constructed, it proved to be very functional and it is great value for a sub-$30 bag. Recommended. Read more
