| care_instructions | EcoKind yak chews are safe for dogs to chew, however, supervision is highly recommended. Please ensure that you keep an eye on your dog when they enjoy our chews and ensure your pup has access to fresh water. Before giving them to your pooch, remove small pieces that may be choking hazards. Keep in mind your dog’s overall health before giving any chew to your dog and let them adjust to the chews before treating them too often. Our yak chews are meant to be consumed as a treat for dogs, not as a meal substitute and not for human consumption. Before feeding your dog yak chews, ensure that they are safe for your dog’s current diet and age. They are safe for all dog breeds to enjoy if the proper caution is taken to remove any smaller pieces and monitor dogs consumption. Be sure to microwave to smaller pieces for 90 seconds and they will puff up into a crunchy treat for your pooch! |

Customers say
Customers find these dog chews long-lasting and effective for heavy chewers, keeping dogs entertained for hours. Customers disagree on the size, with some finding them good-sized while others say they're too small to chew.

I have 11 month old puppy that wants to chew and shred everything she can get her little chompers on. These yak sticks have been a life saver. She can go to town for hours and they actually last for days. They’re very hard and she just loves them. It takes her a while to wear away at them. So … regardless of the cost, they are sparing other items from being chewed! I do think they are pricey. Maybe not everyone can afford to spend $25-ish on 3 of these. But it’s worth it to me because she is so satisfied chomping on them for days. One thing … the package says when it gets down to a nub you can pop them in the microwave and they puff into a tasty treat. “No waste”. But I tried it and that didn’t work at all. Not even close. It just became slimy and I ended up tossing it. SO, the point is - and your expectation should be - that about 1/4 of these sticks are wasted. I take it away when it gets too little. I think it could be a choking hazard. Bottom line: Yes, expensive. But my baby girl LOVES it and it keeps her busy and focused for hours/days. 👍 Read more
The dogs love them. The chews are hard but don’t have any sharp bits from chewing. They don’t smell or leave stains on the carpet. They last a while. We remove the chews after an hour or so and let the dogs have them again the next day for another hour. So far 3 days. One stick is 3/4 gone the other is 1/3 gone. Read more
First time purchase of "Yak Cheese" treats, but they seemed all the rage currently and I was desperate to find things to keep my dog calm and occupied while she healed from surgery. These things are basically doggie crack. All dogs in my house love these things. They are constantly gnawing on them. My Standard Poodle delicately nibbles on them. My German Shepherd mix - crazy strong chewer - chomps away on them. Somehow, in spite of constant chewing, these things last weeks. The only slight downside is that they do leave little chips wherever the dogs were chewing on them. Slobbery, gross chips of Yak Cheese. For the longer haired poodle, the chips also get stuck in her fur. Not hard to comb or wash out, but still worth keeping in mind. Overall, I absolutely recommend these. Read more
I bought these based off of all the great reviews. I have an aggressive chewer (pit mix) and was looking for something to help him keep busy during the day. These are ok. They dont smell bad or anything like that. Im not sure if my dog is just an extremely aggressive chewer or what but these did not last as long as i was hoping but it did keep him preoccupied for a little while so I can't complain too much. Honestly..my only main thing about these, and it could just be my dog...but they are a little messy. He left a lot of crumbs behind in my carpet. Easy enough to vacuume up, just annoying. Otherwise, id probably consider buying these again. Read more
I know you can microwave them but my dog loves to chew on them right out of the bag. Also, the small chews go farther and are significantly cheaper, especially if you buy the 8 pack. My dog is 70 lbs so he's a big boy and the "small" chews are still great for him. He will chew on one of these things usually for several days. Read more
My 3 dogs loved these, but they were gone in less than 15 minutes. I have yet to find a long lasting chew for them. One is a Great Dane, one is a Husky mix, and one is a German Shepherd. Read more
My dogs really love these. They are long lasting, no smelly, and don't make a mess. But when the bone gets small and they swallow the last bit it will come up later non digested. I try to watch carefully and put the small pieces in the microwave for 30 seconds or so. They puff up and when they cool down they become crunchy and my dogs can finish them safely. They are expensive, but they keep my girls busy for a long time. They are also good for their teeth. Their breath is much better lately. I will be buying them again. Read more
