I no sooner got this extra large bed out of the box, which easily shook into place, onto the floor as my elderly dog decided it was time for a nap. She was snoozing comfortably within minutes. Generous size makes a king size bed for ny 45 lb. Chow Chow. The plush warm outer fabric & thick padding also comfort her extremely arthritic joints. Great value for a very economical price. I have big dogs and little dogs. The little dogs like to lay on the large dog bed but sometimes make a mess. I love the idea that I can remove the cover and wash it. My big dogs are quite large, and this bed works pretty well. They still hang off a bit, but it has held up well and the dogs love it! We got this to go in our puppy's crate as we didn't want her sleeping on the hard plastic bottom - we wanted her to be cozy. This fit perfectly and is a nice thickness. We also liked that the top was a soft material that wasn't super noisy when she moved around. Unfortunately, while it looks nice and cozy when brand new (first picture) , the top material soon gets flat, pilled, and matted down. We also found that once it got all matted and pilled, our puppy would then chew on the fuzz and try to pluck it out. It is also the type of material that traps everything in it, so if they eat anything on it, the crumbs all get trapped in the fabric (see second picture taken after a month of use). If the top had been made with a better quality fleece, this could have been perfect, as it really is a nice bed, but instead is a bit disappointing. A simple change in fabric would go a long way. This think is amazing. I bought it almost a year ago now. I have washed it over and over and it is still so easy to take on and off and wash. This thing owes me nothing and my 12 yr old senior dog has made messes on it, gotten sick on it, and has traveled with it. It looks amazing, the foam inside still looks brand new, it never gets too hot or cold for him, and the fact that its waterproof is just the cherry on top. I love this thing so so much. Best bed I've ever purchased! High quality, nice thickness, great cover that can be washed. Bought it for our special needs fainting goat and he lays on it every day and night. Great dog bed for a great price. It's easy to take the cover on and off with a little bit of work, so you know it's secure when the cover is on. It's a great size, and it's super durable. My large dogs absolutely love this bed. I have one dog that has a problem with scratching the carpet when she's anxious (it's actually a super big issue we've been trying to fix for years) and she's been scratching at this bed, too. We stop her when she's scratching so she doesn't damage things, but I have been super surprised at how well this has held up against her scratching! She would've torn through a handful of other beds by now. I'm not saying it will withstand a ton of abuse--like I said, we don't let her scratch for super long--but it's been wonderful to hold up so well against it all. Read more
