I was looking for an electric lunch box that heated food well, and was designed for superior functionality and this is it! Previously, I had purchased an electric lunch box from a different company that worked well, but had a few design features that I felt could be better. I looked at a lot of lunch boxes and decided to go with this one because it appeared to be superior in all of the ways the other lunch box suffered a bit. I'm happy to report that I am entirely pleased with this purchase! There are a few features to this lunch box that really stand out to me. 1. There are 4 latches on the lid that interlock which makes them very secure and unlikely to be dislodged even if bumped. I would have no hesitation carrying this lunch box by the handles if I chose to which isn't the case with some of the electric lunch boxes. 2. Every part of this lunch box is easy to disassemble and clean 3. The heating plate extends all the way out to the edge of the unit (it has a silicon ring around it to protect the plastic base from being damaged by the heat). This seems like it would make for more even heating of the food. Additionally, the stainless steel insert is thick and high quality which probably enhances the heat transfer to the food as well. 4. The exhaust button is easy to depress to allow steam to escape, and is also easy to remove and put back for cleaning. It also seems to keep the temperature at a better level so that if you take a little longer to get to your food than you intended, the food is less likely to burn. 5. This thing works well! It heats the food through quickly, and gets it piping hot! In fact, I have to let it cool a little bit before I eat it. 6. It's super light weight which is a bonus in my opinion. I carry this electric lunch box inside my usual insulated lunch bag which can get pretty heavy with all of the items I typically carry. The fact that this lunch box is pretty light weight brings the overall weight of what I carry down...which is great! 7. The unit appears to be well constructed and sturdy. I have zero complaints with the design and function of this lunch box. I would definitely purchase this again (in fact, I will) and would not hesitate to recommend this lunch box to other people. Everything was fine except the clasps weren't good quality and broke after about 6 months. Otherwise, everything was fine; it heated up in about 30 minutes. You just add a little water so the food doesn't dry out and get hard. Read more

Got this for my husband so he can heat up his lunch anywhere he is. Today he had spaghetti and he said he heated it in 15 minutes! He doesn't like his food really hot. He did mention he didn't think it would work well with a big piece of chicken. As far as the lid it can be slightly difficult to snap and unsnap but other than that it's great! This is certainly better than the typical models you get. There is a metal pin through the hinges, so the flaps don't just pop off or break. It is larger and wider. The grey case it comes with is bare-bones minimal quality, probably OK if you work in an office but it won't hold up to field use. The device itself is robust and well-built. I like the collapsible handle. It stays out of the way instead of flopping around. A sort of weird design issue is the use of the same plug for both 12v and 120v connections. You could probably avoid damage if you plug the 12v into the 120v jack but probably will fry the thing if you plug the 120v cable into the 12v jack.
