This is a review for the KATERK - Electric Screw Driver BUILD: This electric screwdriver is housed in a plastic shell with a trigger style design. There is a display on the back end of the tool which gives you information such as the battery life percentage, direction of rotation for the bit, and power level. The display also comes with some selectable options which change the rotation direction and increase or decrease the speed. There is an included charging cable but this kit does not include a power brick. There is also a nice compliment of driver heads to accommodate most screw installation or removal tasks. There is also an included case which will keep all of the contents organized and in a neat package for storage in your tool box or shelf. USE: This is an electric screw driver used to remove or install screws of various types. This tool spares you from having to manually rotate a screwdriver and is a faster, less intensive way to install items that require screws. SUMMARY: This electric screw driver is good in most application but might not be the right tool or work well in some scenarios. This build of electric screw driver is called a pistol-grip and while comfortable to hold, takes up more space when holding it. This is great for what I call open-field work like installing an electrical outlet plate, a picture frame screw, or cabinet door hinge. However, you may find difficultly using this in tight corners or at sections of walls near a 90 degree angles like under a cabinet. This is exacerbated by the fact that the bit collar is in the center of the head with about a ½ inch of face plate around it. This prevents you from getting flush with corners. Again, this is situational but should be kept in mind for the purpose you intend to use this electric screwdriver. The screwdriver also has an adjustable speed setting listed as 1-5 with 1 being the slowest. In some preliminary testing, there does not seem to be a reduction in torque related to speed so you will still get the same turning power at any speed level. While 5 is the fastest setting, it’s not so fast that it becomes unstable and remains controllable. The speed adjustment helps keep you the driver in place for precision work. As part of a very preliminary and rudimentary test, I used a small bench vise with rubber pads on the plates to compress the bit head while it was at speed level 1. This was to simulate resistance that might be encountered while installing a screw. I could not stop the bit with the vise with pressure that would most assuredly be more than any organic resistance encountered but I was able to slow it down from its listed 250 RPM. However, you should know that the rubber plate pads are smooth and there is not very much friction in this kind of test. I simply increased pressure on the rotating bit until I felt that it was far beyond normal circumstances. Because there are no torque settings on this screwdriver, there is no clutch to prevent over tightening or stripping. The display also lets you change the rotation direction of the bit from forward to reverse. The torque and the speed appear to be the same in either direction. It took about a solid 6 hours to charge the screwdriver to 100% and under normal use lasts through a fair amount of work. Remember there is no power brick included. I bought this electric screwdriver because I was not interested in bringing out my full sized drill for small and quick applications. In addition, this is much smaller than a full sized drill and it gives more flexibility for projects. Because this is a light-weight screwdriver, it’s easy to hold for long periods of time or to hold in awkward positions. Even thought there are no torque settings, I find the variable speed option to be the next best thing to prevent stripping screws but it’s not 100% so caution should be exercised. If you are in the market for a compact but fairly powerful electric screwdriver, this is a great option with a nicely put together kit. Read more

I snagged this little drill the other day, and it's been a mixed bag for me. On one hand, it does the job well for small tasks around the house, like assembling small furniture or working on some computer repairs. The 5 torque settings and 250RPM speed are pretty decent for light work, and I’ve found the metal bits to be handy for various screws. One feature I really enjoyed was the touchscreen, it’s surprisingly user-friendly and makes the screwdriver easy to control. However, I can't help but feel that it’s somewhat limited in what it can achieve. If you're looking for something to handle heavier tasks, you might want to look elsewhere. Now, about the price.... almost sixty dollars seems a bit steep for what you’re getting. I’d expect it to be more in the thirty-dollar range for the performance it offers. I haven't had a lot of chance to really run the battery on this thing through its paces, but here are my initial impressions: Pros: - pretty solid power; on level 5, it actually has some pretty decent torque - configurable torque; can be pretty nice if you want to go soft or need a little more power without a drill - obviously the fact that its cordless is awesome -surprisingly comfortable handle; not exactly "ergonomic" in any shaped grip sense, but it's pretty comfortable to hold, even in my big mitts - decent zippered case to keep it all together without a lot of bulk - light on the front is actually pretty bright, and right at the business end too, so it actually shines on what you're working on - simple touch controls that work well - feels solid and well-made Cons: - no instructions (at least none were included with mine) - small selection of bits (almost silly small, but in all fairness, that's not what you're buying it for, and it includes everything it says it does) - the controls are only touch, raising a possible concern with longevity; no concerns yet, but worth highlighting All said and done, I'm pretty impressed with this driver. It's actually quite a bit more powerful than I expected, beating another cordless screwdriver I have from a major American brand pretty noticeably.
