I absolutely, LOVE the Elite Gourmet Rice Cooker. It is like having a little electric caldren from days of yore. You can cook just about anything in it. Scrambled eggs, chicken, steak, stews, soups, not just rice! It only has a single switch that says "Cook & Warm". That's all you need. Simple with no complication. Plug it in, add oil, chop your meat or cook legs and thighs of chicken. Did 8 pieces of chicken legs, added oyster sauce, chopped tomatoes, potatoes, etc. It cooked it all in 20 minutes. I now cook all my meals in this little pot. Meat and sauce first, then brown ricr. This little pot is so amazing and easy to clean. Stainless steel. No chemicals like teflon to lrach into your food. Wash the steel bowl, let it soak for awhile with hot water and soap. If food is stuck to the bottom. After you let it soak. Use a wood spatula to scrape the bottom and then wash with a scrub pad, like you do the other dishes and all will come out easy peasy. Make sure you dry the outside before puting the pot back into the plastic container. No water can touch the heating element or it will be damaged. I follow this rule faithfully. This little pot is portable, so I take it to other people's houses and cook for them. It can feed 3 or 4 people easily. I can't tell you all the new ways and things to cook in this little gem. I take it everywhere. I enjoy cooking now because how fast I can get things done! I fully recommend this product. It has changed my busy life. So now I can eat fresh food and veggies all the time because this little pot cooks it all! Read more

Have been using this cooker for sometime, its best part is the steel pot, sturdy and easy to clean. But the chip of this cooker that controls the cooking time is pathetically dumb! So many times it just decides to stop cooking before the rice is even half cooked, and u have no way to put it back from the warm mode to the cook mode. Even if u stop and start all over again, it would go into warm mode in just a few minutes and leave u with the not-even-half-cooked mess. The engineers who design the chip of this cooker likely got Fs in science/eng when they were in college, otherwise, how could they mount such a great hardware with such a dummy chip that came out of their stupid design ?! ----- This is an edit of my old review, which appeared overly harsh and I must apologize for that. After years of usages, I found that if I used it to cook rice, it worked fine as it was supposed to do; but if I put extra stuffs with rice, then it had high probability to cause similar problems mentioned in the above review. Overall, the cooker is still working fine and cooks rice faithfully in these years, I cannot complain (raise from 1 star to 4 stars). Read more

I got this steel electric rice cooker back in December 2022 because I wanted something easier than my stove-top pressure cooker. And it's been awesome! Small, fits my space, looks great! For the price, you really can't beat it. It's June 2025 now, and it's still going strong. Easy to clean. A simple addition of oil to the rice prevents sticking, making usage even more straightforward. Water content: 2 cups water for 1 cup rice. I use max 2 cups raw rice. It's a simple, reliable appliance that I highly recommend Read more

The stainless steel pot is too small for the appliance, there is too much free play -- moves around too much. I have never seen any rice cooker that the pot does not fit the appliance.. its as if the pot was made for a smaller appliance and was a cost savings move to use it on this rice cooker. I've already washed the rice and placed it in there, so might as well use it.. it has a burnt smell.. i know some appliance does that on first use, so ok.. whatever. My main concern is that I made only four cups of rice (as it's 5 cup max) and it is boiling over.. I am impressed with the quality of the stainless steel pot, but after reading the reviews about the stainless steel going bad, the handle breaking (i can see that part is cheep plastic), the incorrect size pot, the boiling over, and possibly electrical (i'm assuming it would go away with time), I'm going to return this and stick with replacing my old Aroma rice cooker that I've used for over 15 years with another Aroma Brand. I bought this rice cooker and paid a little more for it because it advertised a stainless steel insert (where the rice and water go) So here's the good points. I've had the cooker for a year and a half and used it a lot and it has proved durable and easy to use. The bad part is that the insert appears to be chrome coated aluminium. There is nothing ferrous in there. Not even a fairly strong magnet will stick to it. Also the shiny chrome-like coating is very weak and started corroding after the first use. I probably should have returned it right off but what the hey, it works. I would not try to prepare any acidic foods in it. The company selling it through amazon is definitely engaging in false advertising about the stainless steel part. Read more
