UPDATE: After some testing, I found out the reason the ring light kept turning itself off was due to the USB in my computer, somehow was not able to support the power to both my webcam and the ring light at the same time. Since I powered the ring light via a USB plug in my power strip, it has stayed on without issues. I'm not sure this is only due to my computer's capability or it will be the same for other computers. In another note: it's not as bright as I hope it would be, but I think it's a good light and has some good features for it's price. Got it as a Christmas gift for my wife, knowing that a ring light would do a better job in lighting for her online teaching classes. While I was trying to set it up and testing for the best position to place the light, it turned off on its own after it was turned on for just a few minutes. I turned it back on again, but in less than a minute time, it turned off on its own again. This went on four times; on the fifth time of turning it back on, and it finally stay on. I got my ring light in December of 2020, to add some fill / additional front light when I was working on Video calls. The "warm" yellowish light setting was good for making me look less ghostly, and the 3 brightnesses are distinct. I used my own clip to attach the light to my desk top, but later used the tripod for a web-cam and it works fine! I never tried the remote. The light did, as mentioned in someones question below, have a bluish glow when the power was off, which was weird, but didn't seem to affect function -- it was like having a nightlight in the office. BUT then in May/ June of 2022, the light mostly quit turning on (although then it would sporadically work, but couldn't be depended upon.) I looked in the instructions for some kind of trouble shooting -- which I didn't find, and the ring seems glued or soldered shut, however I also notice the 18 month warranty. With 2 days to spare before the purchase date, I wrote to the contact page, and heard back within 24 hours, requesting a video of the non-working light. I provided that, and they are sending me a replacement. I debate knocking a star off because it ultimately stopped working, but the customer service prompts me to add it back on. For a price I can afford, it worked out of the box and through the height of the pandemic -- and in general, I definitely recommend a ring light to improve the experience of having to look at yourself on Zoom or Google Meet! A functional, full-featured ring light that won’t break the bank. It offers three colors/tones (from warm yellow to harsh white) and multiple brightness levels for each color. There’s an included remote for Bluetooth-enabled phones, which will allow you to take photos or trigger video from a distance sans wires, and also a wired remote attached to the power cord that can be used to cycle through colors and tones. You can power the light via a USB wall-wart or any USB-friendly power bank. On bright settings the light will devour battery, but a decent power bank will give you at least an hour or two. Construction is solid and mostly high quality, though it’s a bit wobbly toward the top (where the light connects to the base). Note that the mount for phones is underneath the light, rather than in the middle of the ring. But it does provide very pleasing illumination for zoom calls or YouTube/Instagram etc. There are slight better (and way more expensive) ring lights available, but it would be hard to justify spending more for a light that is just a tiny bit more sturdy. The media could not be loaded. I have three stars because the light I received is defective but still works. It was easy to setup, and there are 3 color options however on the warmer light, I think there is a issue with bulb on the inside as you can see in the video, part of the warm light was out. I don’t want to go through the hassle of returning so I will keep it for what I need it for. Overall the sturdiness is good and the remote control works right out of the pack.
