Why didn't I get this sooner? Perfect fit and seal. On my 14oz Ember, which used to keep coffee warm for about 60-70 min, it now keeps it warm for 2+ hours! As long as the sliding piece is in the closed position, keeps all liquids in even in a bumpy truck cup holder. I bought this lid to use with my 14 oz metallic Ember Mug2. The quality of the lid is good. It fits my mug really well. The silicon o-ring makes the fit nice and snug. And it’s easy to clean. I find it keeps my coffee hotter throughout the mug, instead of the coffee just being hotter at the bottom of the cup more than the top. And it also preserves a little battery life. All that being said, I would call the lid more splash-proof than spill-proof. When my mug tips over, liquid leaks from the closed sippy slider on top of the lid. It leaks out slowly, but when it’s coffee spilling into and the cup holders in the center console of your car, any amount is problematic. Also, if my mug dropped onto a hard surface, I’m pretty sure the lid would pop off. So yeah, not spill-proof, but definitely splash-proof because the lid fits nice and snug. I love my Ember mug, but I always felt like the heat escaped too quickly from the top. This sliding lid is the perfect fix. It fits both my 10 oz Gen 1 and Gen 2 mugs perfectly. Pros: Better Battery Life: Since the lid keeps the heat in, the mug's heating element doesn't have to work nearly as hard. I’ve noticed my battery lasts about 20-30% longer now. Splash-Proof: It’s great for walking around the house or office. It won't survive being turned upside down, but it stops the "slosh" perfectly. I wish the lid fit just a bit tighter than it does. Adding a lid to your ember makes all the difference in the world on battery life. If you are like me and use creamers, it also prevents the cream from turning into the floating film that is caused from the constant heating. They really should just include this with the purchase of the ember mug to begin with. The price is a bit high for just a cheap plastic lid, but it is necessary to enhance the Ember experience. Have you ever had a product experience so good that it stopped you in your tracks and made you go, "Oh! Wow, that's really nice!" That's this. I'm surprised to be writing a five-star review for this, because when I placed my order, I was bitter about the cost. It is, after all, a LID. Heck, why didn't the mug come with a lid in the first place? Then I got it and used it. I really appreciate the design of the Ember mug's lid, and now I want one for my 10oz mug, too. Specifically, the way the edge or lip of the lid is contoured makes for a really comfortable drinking experience. You don't really tend to think about what would be ergonomic for your lips - I sure didn't - until I used this. I also really love that the sip-hole slide cover pops off completely, super easily, for cleaning. We've all used sip-thru lids that get uncomfortably gunky. This makes it incredibly easy to avoid that entirely, and I love the ease of cleaning and use. It forms a good, strong seal with my mug, so now I don't have to worry about curious kitten paws making their way into my coffee. I bought the model for my 14oz Ember Mug 2 and it fits flawlessly. This is really a worth while investment for the Ember Mug. It does increase the battery life as the heat does not escape versus not having a cover. Some may say it's expensive but I think it pays for itself. It is very easy to use although washing the insulation rubber can be a pain (small issue). It does what it says it's supposed to do, keep my drink longer and also from spilling. It also looks great! I mean it's transparent right? so you can see how much drink is left and what's in it.
