I've got another one of these by this company but it's thicker and heavier but achieves no more wind protection or warmth . I think my favorite part is the ability to protect my neck unlike gators , beanie and bacolavas. Quick on or off with the Velcro closure ensuring it stays put . Good quality, nicely made, great features with the ear pockets for warmers and the various velcro straps. I would have given five stars if the product received was the one pictured. Mine was missing the two straps shown at cheek level for the mouth piece attachment. I ordered this model specifically for those two straps. Read more
It's good for really cold weather, like 20 or lower. Pretty easy to install. I haven't needed the pockets that are there to install some handwarmer packets because it is almost too warm now! Read more

I live in South Texas, so temps under 45 to me are brutally cold. The hood is lined in soft, warm fleece and blocks the wind very well. I no longer wear a hard hat, but strongly recommend this to those who do. I worked at a drilling site on a mountain in Iraq. If I had this, the experience would have been comfortable. If you work or recreate outside in the cold, you need one of these. Read more
