I've got another one of these by this company but it's thicker and heavier but achieves no more wind protection or warmth . I think my favorite part is the ability to protect my neck unlike gators , beanie and bacolavas. Quick on or off with the Velcro closure ensuring it stays put . I live in South Texas, so temps under 45 to me are brutally cold. The hood is lined in soft, warm fleece and blocks the wind very well. I no longer wear a hard hat, but strongly recommend this to those who do. I worked at a drilling site on a mountain in Iraq. If I had this, the experience would have been comfortable.
