Let’s be honest: I bought the Eve Flare because I wanted to feel like a wizard, summoning mood lighting with my phone. Turns out, this glowing orb delivers-minus the wand, plus a lot of “ooh” and “ahh” from guests. Setup was so easy, I almost missed the thrill of reading a 40-page manual. It’s Apple HomeKit-enabled, so if you’re in the iPhone club, you’re golden-just tap, name it, and start bossing it around with Siri. Android users, sorry, you’ll have to settle for the basic on/off button and a few color presets. (It’s like being invited to the party but not allowed near the snacks.) Is it pricey? A bit. Is it worth it? If you want a portable, stylish, and privacy-focused smart light that plays nice with Apple, absolutely. Just don’t expect it to double as a disco ball for your next rave-unless your rave is very, very chill. In short: the Eve Flare is the kind of gadget that makes you smile every time you use it. Specifications only list the output of this lamp at 90 lumens but you must remember the dome is translucent. In a dark room at 50 percent setting it still lights up the room with a nice glow. I purchased this because it works with my Apple HomeKit system and it works seamlessly with Siri. The only drawback is that you need the Eve app to set the color. Once set, it defaults to that color when you turn it on with the Apple system. I have not stretched them to the limit of the battery because recharging is pretty simple with it's MagSafe-like charging adaptor. The use of the wireless charging base contributes to the water resistance rating because there is no open charging port to allow moisture to get in. Read more

Not worth it at all. This is an extremely simple product with a ridiculously high price tag. Pairing is a nightmare, taking way too long and often failing. The build quality feels cheap, and the colors are completely off—none of them even remotely match what’s shown in the app. Honestly, this isn’t worth even 10% of what it costs. Huge disappointment. Despite promising last year that Matter support would be added, the light does not have a Matter QR code and cannot be added to any smart home system other than HomeKit. It's July 2023 and there is still no word on when Eve Home will add Android or other Matter hub support. The light is bright. I had trouble initially turning it on but found that pressing and holding power to twenty seconds "reset" the light and it now turns on. The Eve Flare is extremely easy to setup, all you need to do is scan the QR code with your iPhone's camera. I placed this next to my bed it has been nice have customizable lighting in the evenings and morning. In the evening, you can use this light to read a book, and furthermore, since there is a built in battery you can remove the Eve Flare from the wireless charging dock and use the built in handle to carry it like a lantern. Pretty fun and every time I carry it around my house I feel like I am camping somewhere. Additionally, the Eve Flare is great for the mornings. If you need to wake up early, or your room does not get a lot of natural light, the Eve Flare is perfect to automate your wake up. You can set it to turn on at a specific time, and since you can choose the color of light, you can wake up to a "sunrise" each morning! It is bright, attractive and works well. I like that their products work well in Apple home too. A area for improvement is if they could make a AC plug that was smaller and didn't obstruct other available outlets. Update. I was testing how long it would last on battery. It was @ 40% and mid blue color. After about 3 hours I forgot about it and 12 hours later is was still working on battery! Read more

I like this item, but I don't love it. Its nice to be able to move it to the deck at night for a soft glow. It looks nice, and the consistency of the light is very nice. However, the brightness range is a bit narrow; the difference between 10 and 100% is disappointing. Further, the quality and range of the color is also a weak spot. I would love to see Eve release an updated version that had higher quality and brightness options, as well as enabling adaptive lighting to automatically adjust color temp throughout the day. With those complaints stated, it is used daily in the master bedroom, and regularly finds itself off the base as a soft light. Read more
