Arrived 3 days earlier than expected ! THANKS ! Steamed the kitchen, steamed the Sun Room carpet...Results are SPLENDID..Now the Study and Living Room are next. I might not sleep tonight. Assembly was a snap. Instruction booklet is very clear and easy to understand. The on-board tools are fantastic. After reading tons of reviews..Ewbank was the obvious choice with high pressure steam and 45 minutes run time and a trigger handle that can be locked into place to prevent hand cramps. Just got my EWBANK DYNAMO and used it last night. I have a new puppy, which comes with its own little housebreaking challenges. The DYNAMO was just that on the puppy spots. The spots on the tiles are gone and the house no longer smells like "dog". Steam was hot enought to clean even the grout, and there are no harsh chemical smells - just a refreshing clean scent. The amnual was easy to follow, the machine rolls nicely across the floor, and the extnesion wand is long enough so you don't have to stoop. The attachments make it versatile enough to use all over the house. A few drawbacks which kept it from getting a full 5 stars: 1. As mentioned by the other reviewers, the 8.2 foot power chord is not long enough. If you are cleaning a larger room, you need to use multiple outlets to get the coverage you need. This is overcome by using an extension chord, but for something that is supposed to clean something as large as floor area, it falls - pun intended - short. 2. The cleaning rag it comes with is not sufficient for large area cleaning. It is an very inexpensive little peice of thin towel material which picks up the dirt adequately enough, but needs to be changed rather often. Would have been nice if a few more had been enclosed. (You can get similar material at WalMart for $2/yard and make more if you are handy or just buy a pack of cleaning rags at Sam's - they're a bit big, but the clips that hold the rag on the cleaning attachment are sturdy enough to handle that). I was very disappointed after trying my steamer. I was mainly looking for a steamer that would clean my ceramic tile. The Ewbank somewhat cleaned my tile but I have a bigger complaint and that is it took too long to build up steam when you finally got started and the cleaning time was way too short. The instruction book said it would take no longer than 40 seconds to build up steam. After timing a cleaning session it went as follows: 40 second clean/89 second wait, 47 sec. clean/67 sec. wait, 20 sec. clean/97 sec. wait, 30 sec. clean/85 sec. wait... It did not get any better. It took way too long for the total cleaning session. I must say I did use it on a cloth chair, and it looked very clean, but as for the tile, I am still looking for a better cleaner. Read more
