If these somehow get wet, they dry quickly - Unlike cotton. The waistband is "just the right width" to provide the perfect level of comfort. I once wore a pair of these with a pair of synthetic hiking shorts and a stay-dry tee shirt at a water park. I took a ride down a water slide, and after walking in the sun for about a half hour, you'd never know I had ever gotten wet. For traveling, this are unbeatable. Hand wash them in a sink at night, wring them out, and hang on a doorknob for about two hours. They're ready to go again. They aren't cheap, but you get what you pay for. I can't say enough good things about these. If you get a pair, you'll probably order six more. I know, because I did. They typically last about 2-3 years. Well worth the price!
