Great Tripod for Small COB Lights
I like this style of tripod for small COB lights. It is great for indoor use and you can get in tight to what you are trying to light because the base is narrow. That said, if you are outside or anywhere that might provide wind or other movement to tip the stand, I would recommend using sandbags. The tripod folds down to about the size of a collapsible umbrella. It is super easy to attach a light with the turn style screw and the light I tested with it held in place. The head angles front and back. The extensions are easy to pull out and set. The base only requires a turn of the knob to lock into place. The stand can become a little tippy if fully extended. I typically don’t have it fully extended, but if I needed it to be, I would add a sandbag. The phone holder and remote are nice extras, but I probably won’t use them. I mainly use this type of tripod at tables where I’m doing POV or top down videos as I like that I can get in close and angle the head towards the table. Good value. Read more
