Read more
First and foremost, lets agreed that this is a $20 unit. It does read with no issues and the 4 port USB hub, SD card slot and micro SD slot port is a really nice addition to todays ever shrinking laptop's ports. The cable is a double USB and USB C connector. This is great because I've seen new laptops with only USB C ports. As someone mention before, the led changes colours randomly and has no use at all. The device is quite light and has a cheap feel. Again, it's only $20. This is a great option for anyone looking for an inexpensive drive. Read more
great little drive with a nice case. The case is important since it rarely gets used. Read more
It may be user error, but I never got this to read a DVD or BluRay disk (of those my 8 year old portable/USB BluRay reader successfully reads). Neither Windows nor MacOS sees this drive at all, across 4 different machines. Read more
Bought this so I could start backing up my blu-ray movies to my hard drives (I use MakeMKV which recognizes the BD disc drive). It was basically plug and play. I'll say that so far the disc drive has worked without issues! My only concern is that this is a slot-loading style disc drive like the ones you see in cars, so there isn't a tray that pops out. I don't quite know how long the slot loading mechanisms can last in the long term, but for now it works smoothly. Also, the USB cable that is attached to the drive is pretty dang short. Read more
I gave it a 3 star due to it seems to read okay, but burning disc is another story, it took 3 try's to finally get one to finish. The only one that made it and worked was a DVD at 2.4x slow slow write speed using AnyBurn software. Bluray disc only made it to 7% then failed, 25GB Bluray disc burning at slowest speed just some files for testing and it just couldn't do it. Still trying to give this product a shot but it isn't looking good. I have both USB's plugged in one for power and other for PC, my system is Ryzen 9900X3D and 64GB DDR5 On ASUS ROG Motherboard, it is not the computer's fault. Read more

I'm giving it 4 stars because the price makes it a good value, but it was a near thing. It works fine. Not super fast, but I'm not sitting around waiting while I write things to BD-R disks, so that's not a major issue. It's very noisy when indexing the laser, which is annoying, but pretty quiet when reading or writing a disc, so I can live with it. The most annoying thing is that the USB cord to connect it to a computer is only about 4 or 5 inches long. Not even long enough to connect it to the top mounted USB ports on my PC. Ludicrously short. Plan on buying a USB extension cable to go with this. Read more
