Works great so far, but the cord is pretty short
The title (mostly) says it all. I bought this so that I could access CDs/DVDs using a new-ish laptop. It works 'pretty' well for that, although the very short cord really limits where you can place it. I will say that the USB & SD card ports have been VERY useful, especially when trying to flash a micro-SD card for use with an RPi 4 that I'm re-purposing. So that was an unexpected bonus. Read more
Well-built and very functional
Had my doubts on ordering one of these online, but the drive turned out to be an excellent choice - not only great for burning and ripping CD, the multiple ports come in very handy since I have limited ports on my laptop. I can use the drive for its primary purpose and expand its use via the other ports simultaneously. Great design and an excellent value. Highly recommend. Read more

decent, maybe built a little to cheap
This external CD/DVD drive works well, it functions fine, a little slow on the write rates compared to my other drives and internal drives. The extra ports are great for laptop users who use a disk drive regularly and need a few more ports too. It didnt make much different for me personally, but the ports all work. The drive ejects most of them time when I use the button, occasionally I have to press it a couple times to get it to take, there is some play and I suspect that the plastic is a little thinner than it maybe should be. It was recognized on both my desktop and laptop right away and had no issues. The overal build of the drive could be better though, the plastic has some give and it feels a little flimsy in places. it doesnt affect the use, but could affect long term reliability, especially if you use it on the go.
