Unlike a previous CD burner brand, this worked perfectly right out of the box. IF you have the CD burner software correctly loaded for a macbook pro, this will truly be a joy product to use. Wish I'd gotten this product the first time around. The Umaniyn CD/DVD burner was simply garbage and literally thrown out in the trash. This product, however, is quality for the price! Love it! NOTE: The manual that comes with this product (which i made in China) has been poorly translated. It did not deter from using the product, however. The instructions weren't updated for laptops with Windows 8.0 and above, but a few Google searches (and 30 min later) it turns out windows doesn't have the appropriate media player for this anymore. But you can download a VLC media player and it should work perfectly. Outside of those initial installation issues, it's really easy to use, just plug in and play. Plus it's really the perfect size. It makes a little noise, but not to an annoying degree. Mostly when you pause and play a DVD. I haven't used it for (and didn't buy it for) burning CDs or anything so not sure how well that'd work out. Acceptable value for the money, in my opinion. I'd buy it again. Read more

Easy to use, worked without adding drivers, etc. I use it on two different PCs and a Mac. I cannot use it on a cellphone because there is no external power connection, so apparently there is not enough power to drive the motor. Read more
it works, but from the first use my dvd got stuck in the player. i have to unplug it and plug it back in for it to open back up. its fast, but loud at the start. Read more
