Eye Mask by TheraPearl Ice Pack Flexible Gel Beads for Hot Cold Therapy for Puffy Swollen Eyes Relaxation

I stored this in the freezer when I first got it and just recently pulled it out to try when my eyes were feeling puffy and strained. The beads inside did not freeze hard and remained soft and pliable to shape against the eye sockets and face. The thin stretchy headband holds the mask comfortably in place. I honestly couldn't even feel it once i laid down, which is not the case with other headbands I've tried. Initially the mask was too cold to hold against my skin for long so I placed a thin cloth in between until I could tolerate the cold temp. Next time I'll try it in the refrigerator instead of freezer. The cloth made it more difficult to actually feel the cooling temperature so I was glad when I could remove it to have the mask in direct contact with my skin. The soothing relief was such that I soon fell asleep. When I woke up 40 minutes later the mask was completely room temperature. I'd guess that it holds the temp for 30 min. or less. The plastic material is soft and comfortable against the skin. I wish it held the temperature longer but I'm satisfied with this as a temporary form of relief for tired eyes. As the temperature quickly dropped while held against my skin I did try and flip the mask over for the unused cooler side. Because of the shape of the mask it wouldn't fit properly against the eyes and over the bridge of the nose. You could probably achieve these results by taking the mask completely off and inverting it, but I just moved it up to lay against my forehead (where the shape didn't matter) and then flipped it back again. Massaging the beads inside the mask should also displace the colder ones. I do wish it held the temperature longer but overall I'm happy with my purchase. Within the last year, I started suffering from very dry and inflammation of the eyes .I have been using this eye mask every day for a little over a month now, and I have actual confirmation from my eye doctor that my eyes have gotten much better since I first started using this product. You need to be diligent in using it every day to actually start seeing the benefits. Other reviewers say that the mask is too small for them. I have a smallish face/head and I think the mask fits me perfectly. The measurements of the mask where the beads would be applied to your face is roughly 6.5 inches to 2.5 inches. If you have a giant face or head, the mask may be too small for you, or the band might be way too tight. If the band is too tight, just lay down with it over your eyes and hold it onto your face. There are suggested directions on the mask on how to microwave the mask depending on how many watts your microwave is. I wouldn't just leave it in there for the full 10-15 seconds. There are other reviews complaining about their masks exploding. In order to avoid the mask from exploding, I put the mask in for 4-5 seconds at a time, hit pause, shake the beads around, flip the mask over, repeat until it feels hot enough to use. I haven't had any issues yet and all the seams still seem very intact. You also might experience vision blurriness for a few minutes after using the mask. This review is for the TheraPearl Eye Mask, Eye-ssential Mask with Flexible Gel Beads for Hot Cold Therapy. I really like this product. I've used it in the past. I put it in the microwave on high for 12 seconds, strap it on, and lay back on my bed for 5 minutes. I do this when I wake up in the morning and again before I go to bed at night. I have found that, once strapped on, then when I lay on my back this of course moves the heated beads to lay directly over my eyes so it feels much warmer to my eyelids than it did to my hands when I had taken it out of the microwave. For this reason, and with a little experimentation, I know to keep it to 12 seconds in the microwave. Thirteen seconds is too much heat on my eyelids. Funny how one second makes a difference but maybe your microwave will be different. Read more

After I transferred to my new school my commute is long with traffic so to avoid that I left home earlier then usual resulting in about 5 hours of sleep daily my eyes starting to feel the burden. Eyes became sensitive to light, eyes are very dry, and vision got blurry. I am not saying this made my eyesight better but I felt that this would relax and cool my eyes and it did! I feel better but it does not help with dry eyes. But a good side effect I saw was my morning puffiness is gone which is awesome!! Have not tried it heated only chilled. For 15 mins in the freezer stays cold to cool for around 20 mins? If too cold in the beginning place a kleenex over your eyes. The paling came all jacked up which I was really disappointed, never received a package in that condition but the mask was not damaged I know this because the mall was in a clear plastic bag that did not have any years so did not make a fuss. To clarify, the product description states that the TheraPearl Eye Mask is made in the USA, but the package shows that it is made in China. The eye mask works as expected, and retains the heat slightly longer than I thought it would. That said, I do reheat it in the microwave for a longer therapy session. Time will tell about durability, but the masks seems well constructed, and the price is quite reasonable. Overall and for what it is, I'm pleased with this product. My only criticism is that the seller needs to change the description to reflect that the mask is made in China, not the USA. Read more
