There was an issue with the first unit making it sent making it not reviewable as received. The seller responded to my Amazon message very quickly and sent a replacement eye massager. Here are my observations. PROS ◦ Very solid build and body is ergonomic making it easy for me to hold comfortably. ◦ Compartment to hold water did not leak at all. ◦ The mist is very fine; much better than expected. Smallish water compartment not an issue. ◦ Easy operation using 2 buttons on the side: — Left is for power on/off and switching between massage, mist, and combination. — Right is for selecting 1 of 3 intensities BUT massage intensity remains constant. ◦ The silicone area placed on skin is soft and comfortable. ◦ Massage sound level decreases significantly when placed on skin. NEUTRAL ◦ Massage always cycles through all 3 intensity levels; 2 and 3 are pretty assertive. CONS ◦ Only mist actually has 3 levels. NOTE: I will be sterilizing the water compartment and mister before using mist directly on my eyes. OVERALL, this is an impressive little rechargeable device. It is easy and comfortable to operate, appears to be well-made, and the mist function creates a very fine vapor mist. The massage level cannot be changed and that may be a factor when considering this device. It is noteworthy that the seller was very quick to respond to an issue. A solid 4 stars. There were black marks on the unit that looks like may have come from the inside of the product box however I do not believe the scratches on it were due to the product box. It appears to be well made, charged without issue, and I could really use something like this. But while most of the black material came off using a non-abrasive cloth, it is not reviewable as received (I will not try it as it both touches and sprays water in the eye area). I have dry eyes and was interested in this eye massager for both relaxing eye strain after a day of staring at screens and to restore moisture after a day in the dry office. Overall, it has some nice features but also a few drawbacks that took a few stars off for me. The water tank holds about an ounce and is easy to open and close, with a silicone seal that prevents leaks. Operation is simple, with one button for power and mode selection and another to control the mist level. There are three modes: vibration only, spray only, or a combination of both. While the misting function is adjustable, the vibration strength was not, which was a downside for me. Rather than "massage" it just vibrated and became too intense which wasn’t relaxing at all for me. My wife disagrees and loves it, so YMMV. I tried the misting function with a few different saline eye drops and while it works it also felt a bit disconcerting so not sure how much I'd use it for that. I kept blinking as the mist hit my eye and it seemed more irritating than beneficial. Again, I may just be more sensitive and YMMV. Cleanup is easy just discard any remaining solution and let it air dry. I do question if the ultrasonics will clog over time with saline but only time will tell. In the two weeks I've used it there hasn't been an issue. Price at the time of the review is quite high as it's single eye only and the ultrasonic mister is not expensive nor new technology. If you could alternate massage intensity or pattern it might bring it closer to the current retail asking price, but even with that I'd still say it's priced a little high. My ophthalmologist suggested that I might want to try an eye massager to help with eye fatigue. First Impressions ———————— I had my doubts when I first saw the device up close. It looked like some alien apparatus better suited to eye removal than massage. Still, I dutifully plugged it in using the supplied USB-C cable. Like most rechargeable devices these days, it doesn't include a charging block—just a very short USB-C to USB-A cable. That's fine by me since I recently purchased a 16-port USB-A charging station. The massager charged quickly, and the LED indicator removes any doubt about charging status. How It Works ——————- NOT following the instructions, I gently placed the device on my closed eyelid and turned it on. (You probably want to do as the instructions specify and start the massager BEFORE placing it on your eye to avoid any surprise with its startup machinations.) It whirred to life, with six individual motors manipulating independent "fingers" that undulate in a preprogrammed rhythm that isn't unpleasant. The tool is handheld, giving me complete control over targeting and pressure. The manufacturer calls it "3-in-1 Eye Care", basically three functions born of two capabilities. Vibration only, Misting only (using eye solution from the built-in reservoir), Vibration and misting simultaneously. Each mode offers three intensity settings that I'd characterize as low, medium, and high. The Misting Function (The Real Reason I'm Here) ————————————- The misting function sprays atomized solution gently onto your eye surface, providing much-needed lubrication for people like me to prevent dreaded corneal erosions—which feel like having a grain of sand trapped between your eyelid and eye surface. Our extremely dry climate here at 11,000 feet doesn't help matters when your eyes are already struggling for moisture. Build Quality and Design ———————————- The massage heads are made from (or at least covered by) food-grade silicone that's hypoallergenic and safe for sensitive eyelid, cheek, and neck skin. The device easily fits in the palm of your hand, with ergonomic engineering that makes it comfortable to handle and use. It’s relatively lightweight, weighing in at 150g (dry), or more (wet) depending on the type and density of the fluid used in the misting reservoir. The rechargeable battery (the marketing material claims a 800mAh capacity but the included manual claims a significantly smaller capacity of 350mAh.) charges in under 2 hours from full discharge. I’ve not disassembled the device to determine which capacity is correct. The documentation claims a runtime of approximately 90 minutes. Personally, I’ve only run mine for 20 minutes continuously; I experienced no degradation in performance during that use. Whatever its battery capacity, I find it more than adequate for regular use. Construction appears solid with quality materials throughout. Even the packaging is attractive, making this suitable as a thoughtful gift. Bottom Line —————— If you want something truly unique to give as a novelty with a higher purpose, or if you're a suffer of dry, tired, or irritated eyes (like me), it's definitely worth trying.
