Finally, a pairs of readers that appear to be well made and will hold up to normal wear for years to come! So far I am very pleased with the quality and construction of these glasses and they are reasonably priced. Instead of cheap plastic construction, they are constructed with aluminum or some form of strong metal. The temples are spring hinged and don’t think they will separate from the hing point where they are attached to the main part where the lenses reside. Readers purchased in the past, have been cheaply made and almost always break at their hinge points due to the hinges being plastic. Will update my review if something unexpected happens. Thank you!! My story, my eye sight... Over the last six years or so I have had my eyes check at two different eye clinics as per my doctor because I am 79 years old now and both clinics said I needed and they made for me a set of bi-focal glasses which I had to pay about $300.00 per set . I feel that after getting these custom made bi-focal glasses that I could not stand wearing them because I really feel that they were not made correctly because I had to bobb my head up and down to use them. Look up to see long distance and bobb down to do any reading. I ended up putting bot pair in my dresser drawer and never used them . I then started buying my own reader glasses from local stores like Walmart and Dollar Tree and such. Most of these were cheap a few dollars per pair and a few times I paid about $16.00 for a pair or two from Walmart. But these would only last about 3 months and I would have to buy more to replace them as they would break apart or the lens would become so scratched it would become hard to read using them. I then did a search for "readers" on Amazon and found these and took a chance that by getting 5 or 6 pair for such a very good price and the frames looked like that they were made of all metal and not plastic that they should hold up a lot better that all of those that I had bought in the past. Well after having them for about a month now I can say that these are really made very well and are very strong and have held up better than any other glasses that I have ever bought . Also the lens have not gotten any scratches on them as yet and are holding up the best yet over all. So bottom line for me is the price is right and the quality and strength for durability is very much worth the price. When it comes time for me to buy more "readers" these are the ones I will buy again ! Read more

Very strong metal! Built to last. Yes, it was loose when I first put them on, and would slip off. I carefully used needle nose pliers and a protective barrier so as to not scratch the metal, and slowly bent metal inwards to make the glasses fit better. They no longer slip off. Note: The metal is not easily bent, since it is very strong. My two cents. Read more

Im sure it’s my fault that I keep scratching the lenses. There is only one scratch proof glasses holder(soft bag) for the 5 pack though. The glasses are sturdy and provide blue light protection without looking like sun glasses. Ive re-bought these a few time because I keep scratching them, and they’ve never broke Read more

I want to start with the durability of these glasses/frames. I read where several people claimed these broke within weeks or something. As solid as these are, I find that highly unlikely, unless they're playing full contact football without helmets. I purchased these after having had Lasik. My strength was seeing closeup, and I was very nearsighted. Well, after Lasik, as often happens with older people, you need reading glasses. I purchased these after paying $13.00 for reading glasses at Kroger, and I like these better! I love the style. The frames are very similar to what I was wearing with prescription glasses, so when I need to see close up, I look smart, not old, lol. I am a tall guy, which means a big head, and these fit very comfortably. The gun-metal gray is perfect for my complexion and silver hair. The lenses are as clear as any pair of glasses I have ever owned, and most importantly, the glasses serve their function. What once was fuzzy, is now clear. I can't believe how nice these are for $4 and some change each. I keep the $13 Kroger pair in my vehicle, as I don't care if the Texas heat damages them. I'll probably leave a pair at my friend's house in case I ever forget mine when I go to visit. The remaining pairs will just stay packed up until I lose a pair or two, lol. I purchased the 1.25x power readers. Read more
