These earrings look and feel like a step up from the typical less expensive earrings you find at the mall. They have some weight to them, and the plating is finished well. The saddleback closures fasten securely and feel substantial enough to last. The earrings are an oval-shaped hoop that is concave in the middle. It is stated that they do not contain nickel and have a solid sterling silver post. So far so good, so that seems likely. They come in a gift box which is strangely long and more like a box for a necklace. There is a strip of ribbon included for the box, but the one I got has slashes and holes throughout its length. It would not be usable if I were giving these as a gift. The included squeeze coin pouch and little card are a nice touch though. I have rated these 5 stars based only on the earrings themselves. They do not come close to hugging my ear lobes, nor do they hug the person's in their provided photo. These earrings are not huge by any means, but they are chunky and nearly an inch long, so I would not consider them to be small hoops. I think the fact that these are not a huggie design just illustrates that these earrings may be on the smaller side, but they are not necessarily small. I also would not consider these lightweight. There are definitely heavier earrings out there, but these still pull on my ear lobes, so they obviously have some weight to them. I would, however, agree that these can be used in a variety of different settings. They are classy looking so they are not too much for a casual outfit but can still compliment business attire and dressier clothes. I don't normally wear earrings like this, only posts, but when I saw these they really caught my eye and I thought I'd give them a try. I'm so glad I did. I love them! The posts are a bit thicker than I'm used to but I figured that's because they're larger and heavier than my posts. That mentioned, they are not too heavy or large, just different for me. They are very comfortable and I am able to wear them all day with no issues. Since I'm not accustomed to this type of earring it did take a short learning curve for me to figure out how to clasp them closed without pinching my ear lobe. I was able to learn fast and now I can close them quickly and easily. I'm so happy I decided to branch out to these after so many years! These are listed as hugging earrings but I think they are too big to be called hugging. That being said they are a nice size, not quite large enough to be chunky but a nice in-between size. The saddlebag closures are sterling silver to make them hypoallergenic. They are on the heavier weight size as they start to hurt my ears after wearing for several hours. They are a unique design with the concave middle making them look like they could be double hoops at some angles. They can also be ordered with 18 carat gold plating if you prefer the gold color. Nice earrings. They have a very smooth finish and a bit of weight to them. The closure is tight and secure. They are the prefect size to me because they are a little bigger than huggers but not too big. I like them small. These can be worn with all types of outfits from lazy day slouch to dressy wedding/diner. They are priced well and I do recommend these. These Huggie Earrings by Eyeshock are great little earrings and I got them in the silver color. While they are in fact the bold, chunky style, they are also smaller in size, so they do not feel large or heavy while I wore them; so I would easily say they are the perfect size. They can be worn alone, by themselves; but since I have 2 pierced holes in each ear, I can pair them with another set of earrings and they would look just great. They are very comfortable when worn for a long time; easy to put on and/or take off; and suitable for casual, daily, work, or whatever outing or event.
