I’ve been using this now for 3 years. I use it to shave around my beard and keep nice clean lines. This razor is comfortable and easy to hold. It cleans easily. The blades are super sharp (as they should be) and last a long time. This type of razor is very unforgiving so if you stroke your face incorrectly (wrong angle, drag, etc.) you are going to get cut - so be careful. But this is the best razor for my purpose. Amazing deal and fantastic product. 100 blades will last a very long time. Gives a significantly better shave than the modern safety razors and doesn't cause razor bumps and other issues that safety razors cause me. One of the reasons a straight razor like this is so much better, is that you can adjust the angle to be perfect for the area you are shaving. Safety razors are all one specific angle and it's not always ideal. Being able to adjust the angle can improve the shave and reduce skin irritation. If it's your first time, it's important to pay attention when using this and shave slowly, lifting the razor away at the end of the stroke. Otherwise it's possible to accidently scrape yourself by moving the razor side to side. That isn't necessarily a bad thing though. It can make shaving a sort of meditation where you focus your mind which is a great way to start the day. Also you'll save ridiculous amounts of money compared to safety razors. Highly reccomend. The concept and materials are great; however, the execution is a bit off. The two pieces that slide apart to insert the blade don't fit back together securely enough to reliably hold the blade in the place. There's a clip that's supposed to slide over the head of the razor that was originally not closed enough to keep the two main pieces together firmly enough to hold the blade in place. Any time the blade was pointed down, there was a 50/50 chance the blade would just fall out of the thing. I've since bent that clip (gold piece in picture) together. It helps, but I think thru prolonged use, that piece will likely need to be re-adjusted and eventually wear out faster than the rest of the tool. The entire tool feels weighty and sturdy which is nice. The metal doesn't feel cheap, and the blades seem to be good blades. Just a shame I got one where the combination of great parts was executed poorly to end up with a mediocre end product. Read more

I have been using a double-edged razor blade for years and have heard all number of horror stories about how difficult it is to get the hang of a standard straight razor. I've been considering the purchase of one for some time now but really didn't want to spend the triple digits necessary to get a nice, high-quality one. At least not yet, anyway . . . I found this on Amazon and saw that it had a great number of positive reviews. I liked the way it looked and liked that the blades were disposable. I'm an amateur bladesmith, so I have all sorts of sharpening tools available to me, but the disposable nature of the blades appealed to me since I wasn't sure if this was something I'd wind up committing to in the long run. Wow. Just wow. I was sold in no time at all. I will say that it takes me a bit longer to use this than using my regular DE bladed razor, but I'm OK with that. I can shave with the DE blade from start to finish in less than 10 minutes. I've not been able to shave with the straight razor and be finished in less than 30 minutes. That's not a complaint, though. It's actually kind of cathartic. I generally take a shower just before going to bed and I'm typically up until around 1 or 2 in the morning. I'll start warming my shaving brush and shave cream up before getting into the shower so that when I get out everything is ready. I generally have some old blues or jazz (Miles Davis, Blind Lemon Jefferson, or something similar) playing on my speakers while I'm showering, so I have that playing in the background. Then I lather up and get to work. It's sooo easy to get lost in the ritual that I forget that this is actually supposed to be a chore. It's such a pleasant experience that I'm almost sorry when I'm finally done and have to leave the bathroom. This razor cuts away stubble like it's butter. Given that I'm something of a novice with it I'm not ashamed to admit that I *have* actually cut my face once or twice, but they've all been relatively superficial. That being said, though, it's a great deal easier to manipulate than I had convinced myself that it would be. I'll reiterate that I *did* cut myself a couple of times, but not much more than I did when I first started using my DE razor. All in all, I love this razor. It feels good in the hand. There's a good sense of balance to it when you hold it. You can feel the stubble falling away from your face as the blade glides over your skin. It's just absolutely amazing. If you've ever been considering the purchase of a straight razor and have been on the fence about it then do yourself a favor and buy one of these. You might wind up sacrificing a bit of your skin to the blade gods, but it's a worthwhile trade. You'll be glad you made the transition. Trust me. Read more
