I'm a makeup artist with over 20 yrs of experience and Emmy winning artist. I have the expensive version of these brushes (they are exquisite), but these ones do the trick. I know they are marketed as watercolor brushes, but for the art of makeup, they are perfection. Read more
I'm impressed at the amount of paint, water colors, these hold and the super fine lines they make. I'm not sure what the definition of "professional" is however these brushes are well made, hold their points and are fun to use. The secret is to keep them super clean - more than just a quick wash in less than crystal clear water, then form and pat dry them. There cannot be a even a trace of color on the cleaned brush. I paint in watercolor and acrylics. I get better results if I use these for watercolor only. They can be used for acrylics of course but the paint is harder. Can't speak for oils, however, I'd expect they would work well for details. Read more
Edit: The customer service contacted me after seeing my original review regarding the ferrule quality issue. They sent me a replacement which was of good quality. Their customer service was excellent and the brushes are as good as much more expensive brands. Thus I'm updating my rating. I only wish they offer larger sized brushes with longer handles. There are two metal 'rings' holding the brush head, both rings are loose for all 4 brushes in the set. I have tried Return and Replacement. The second set has the same but even worse problem -- the top ring is so loose that it easily glide along the plastic wrapping the brush head. Read more
I am a beginner at watercolor painting. I loved these brushes for the price. They held a lot of water and the brushes held their shape well. Would definitely recommend them. The one problem I did see with them is the number size of the brush. I think they are much bigger than what what the brush size actually should be. But I don't think that's a big problem just something to be aware of. Read more
I am very happy with these brushes. They have a nice point, and hold lots of water. Really light weight. Read more
These are a little lower tension than the more expensive squirrel brushes. That's a good thing. Painting watercolor 40 years, these are first choice brushes. Read more
