An overall protip: If you're replacing a light with a fan, make sure you have the appropriate electrical box. Older houses especially might not have the support you need to hold a fan safely, so make sure you check before installing, and put in the right kind of box if needed. With that out of the way, I found this product fairly priced, and my daughter loves the white color. It's a good choice for a light-fixture replacement because, thanks to the remote, you don't have to rewire a switch to control the fan and light separately. I only have a few minor complaints. The install went fairly smoothly, except that I wasn't sure which screws I was supposed to use to connect to the box -- and then the screws that fit in a later step didn't match the picture (and also were the ones I'd already used to connect to the box!). Maybe I was reading the directions incorrectly, but I think they could more clearly label or draw the pictures of the screws so you can tell what goes where. But that said, the fan is installed at the end of the day and it seems solid. For the light, using the remote you can choose a few different color options (white, natural, etc.) and adjust the brightness. My one concern is that, since this is an integrated LED rather than a standard bulb, I'm not sure how easy it will be to find a replacement that fits if it burns out. Same goes for the remote control; you can also use a phone app, but this is in a kid's room, so I'll need to find a compatible remote if the original breaks. On to the fan itself. It's plastic, but it looks decent up on the ceiling. You can run it in either direction, again changing with the remote, and it goes plenty fast enough. I wish the lowest setting were a tad slower, actually, to better avoid creating a breeze when you reverse it and use it to circulate air in the winter. It's also on the smaller side, as you should know from the length mentioned! All in all, this seems like a decent buy from my first few days with it. It will improve a bedroom in our house that doesn't quite get as warm/cool as the others when we run the HVAC, and it looks nice enough despite being inexpensive and plastic. The big question is how long the LED and remote will last, and how hard it is to replace them when they go. I'd rather not have to install a whole new fan in a few years. Read more

I recently installed the Fanbulous 42” Ceiling Fan with Lights, The fan has a sleek, modern look that fits well in my bedroom. It’s made entirely of plastic, so I wouldn’t call it the most durable option out there, but it does come with a 2-year warranty, which is reassuring. I do think it's a little over priced tho. Installation was fairly straightforward — the instructions were clear and easy to follow, and they even included a phone number for extra help if needed. My fan came with a broken wire, I was able to repair it, and it’s been working great since. The motor runs completely silent, when its on the high setting the fan has a whistling sound but its just cause its going so fast. You can easily control everything with either the remote or the app, and both are simple to use. The remote comes with a wall mount, which makes it easy to keep track of. This fan has 6 speed settings, ranging from a gentle breeze to a surprisingly powerful high setting, and there’s also a reverse function. You can also set timers for both the fan and the light. The LED light is very bright, energy efficient, and has 3 color settings — you can dim it to your liking. The fan and motor are also energy efficient. Couple downsides is the fan blades are short, so the airflow doesn’t reach as far as larger fans. Also, while it’s great for indoor use, I wouldn’t recommend installing it outdoors. Read more
