This light fixture arrived well-packaged and undamaged. Since it just has a cage "shade" and no glass, I used it for a covered porch light, and it works well. It lights the area completely, installed easily with no surprises, just like any other flush mount light fixture, and has worked flawlessly for months. The porch is roughly 8 X 20, and it lights it pretty much from end to end. It doesn't take up much space, and has shown no signs of wear or wethering, so I expect it to last until I want to change the style, and even then I could probably sell it at a yard sale without any problem, so I'm counting this as a win. I replaced my ceiling light over my kitchen sink with this light. It is good quality and installation was easy. It is definitely a ceiling that should be over a sink or perhaps in a smaller room. It is not large enough for a big room but does well in a smaller space. It allows a lot of light to go throughout the room since the “shade” part of the lamp is open.
