Tough stainless steel water filter bracket - Fits old Whirlpool model WHCF-DWH (now AO Smith?)

Bought this for a couple of old style Whirlpool water filters that I finally got around to installing. Had to tap the water filters in the four places on top but when I did this ingeniously designed bracket fit perfectly. Although the bracket is a little thinner than I expected, it is plenty strong. It must be really hard stainless steel because I am trying to drill it with Bosch Cobalt bits and cutting oil. It is taking a long time with my hand drill. I'm adding a hole in the center of the 4 keyholes in the vertical portion of the bracket because it is being installed in a moving vehicle and I don't want to take a chance that it ever bounces out of the keyholes, hence the 5th screw hole which will keep it from sliding up. Also note that the design of the key holes means that the vertical part of the bracket MUST be oriented upwards so keep that in mind if space is tight. And buy plenty of sharp cobalt bits. Nothing else is likely to even scratch it. Really tough to drill SS. Read more
