I wasn't completely sure how 'silent' this humidifier would be, but it truly is whisper-quiet while still delivering decent levels of humidification. I placed it in our bedroom (approx 15' x 20') with a humidistat, and it raised the level by about 3% within just a few hours. The size is compact and unobtrusive, the controls are easy to use, the water window is lit up and easy to see, and the mist is well-aerosolized. The only one in the house that notices it's running is one of the dogs (she can see the mist and isn't pleased).
