These gel pens are great quality! The color is very true, very shiny, the silver almost looks like chrome on certain applications! It's a 1.0 point tip which gives you great coverage of the gel ink. It's also high yield, the ink is long lasting, I've used it for a couple coloring projects so far and the ink supply looks like it hasn't even moved! The white one works great too on black paper, and works well for fixing little mess ups then you can redo them! I love them, and you get 2 of each color, they will last me a long while I am sure. I definitely recommend these pens, I might buy another set just so I have them for when they do eventually run out of ink. I bought these for use in coloring books, but I can easily see them being useful for writing on colored backgrounds. The gel was smooth and thick right from the start. The pens didn't require any prep or work to get them to work. The pens seem a bit lightweight, and somewhat cheaply made and "plasticky". However, the caps fit well and I don'e expect them to dry out or leak. I used this gel pen for highlights and to color over the black lines on a coloring page. I've included a few pictures for some examples of how I plan to use these. It may not be apparent in the images, but the ink does seem to pick up color from the alcohol ink underneath. This doesn't really bother me, but if you want a solid white line, it may take 2-3 layers of ink. The 1.0 mm size is slightly thinner than the black lines in my "cozy critters" coloring books, so it will need a couple of passes to coat the black lines neatly. If you want a nice fine point, this isn't it. The ink does not dry quickly and will smear. I accidentally put my hand in the wet ink when I tried to move on to a different area before the white gel was completely dry. It needs at least a couple of minutes to dry or it will create a smeary mess. Overall, I'm happy with this product, although I understand that there will be a slight learning curve to get used to how these pens react.
