We've bought these previously and we like the quality and price. Filters of this type are sometimes difficult to remove so you have to be careful. I use a wide jawed pliers to carefully grip the part of the filter that sticks out of the opening. You just need the pliers to get it to start moving. Other than that, the filters are easy to replace. After replacement it is a good idea to run a couple of quarts of water through the filter to capture small particles. We've been using these filters in our Samsung internet connected refrigerator for a long while. So far we have not been delivered a dud. There is no adverse impact on taste of the water, just the opposite. The filter will not nor is it designed to remove all tastes -- it is just a carbon filter after all -- but it does knock out some of the less desirable tastes of our local water and offers some piece of mind delivering clear water every time. The water from these filters keeps our coffee maker much cleaner which is a huge benefit. Before installing the new filter, inspect it for any damage. We've never had any that we've noticed, but the seal needs to be in good shape or it could leak. While replacement is easy you do have to pay attention. Water can leak from both the fridge and the filter when removing the filter so be prepared and clean it up afterwards. If you're quick, there will be near zero leakage. When inserting the new filter, set the orientation correctly then pop it in firmly and twist. Again, little to no leakage. Run the suggested amount of water (we just run water from the dispenser until 5 minutes passes) then reset the filter status via the fridge's menu or whatever method is prescribed for your model. Good to go. I wish there was a way to recycle the old filters. Don't like seeing them end up in a landfill. Also, Samsung should offer an option of ordering the filter when they are about to expire. Mostly kidding there, and while a cool easily doable feature, I wouldn't use it but maybe some would. Read more
