Is actually 50 Microns. Yes the pictures shows a 50 micron filter but descriptions states otherwise. I was hoping it was the 25 microns vs the 50. Just wanted to clarify for those looking at this listing. I plan to use this with the WhirlPool Whole House filtration system for large capacity. Also, by the way I like the pleated because it is easier to pull out of the cartridge holder on the filtration system ... otherwise I need plyers basically a tool kit because of sediment with the other types of cartridges. The pleated make my life a lot easier. :) I am on a shallow well. When I ordered this filter I also ordered the Culligan whole house filter. They are both made in China but the Culligan feels to have thicker pleats this one feels not as thick. Which makes me feel more compelled to purchase the culligan one over this one. They both however do say 50 microns on the packaging. With the culligan feeling thicker I guess it makes feel more secure in it doing it's job. As far as performance I can not comment at this time because I have not used it yet. I change my filters the 1st of every month. Also, the picture does not show the hole on the top but their is one ... just FYI. Because I bought this out of blind faith hoping it had one even though the picture does not show it ... weird. I gave it 4 stars based on the thinness of the pleats and the false description of 25 microns. Primarily the pleats because the description is not the products fault just the vendors. I bought this filter for the large canister housing coming off the water well holding tank. These should be changed every 3 months or so, and they are expensive at the local home improvement store. Not as expensive ordering online, and this filter looks well made! Read more

Last about 3 months on my well. Makes a massive difference. I have two canister filters pre-filtering my raw water before going into the water softener. I pump literally red rusty water in one end and after two filters and the water softener I end up with perfect tasting water. I use this filter as a sediment catch and it then runs into a Filtrete 5 micron. Read more
