When my son got braces, we quickly realized how challenging it was to floss around the arch wires. Floss threaders are small, rigid yet flexible loops that guide dental floss under orthodontic wires, bridges or implants so you can reach between teeth where food and plaque collect. These threaders are made of a thin nylon material that resembles a sewing needle but is gentle on gums. To use them, you simply thread a piece of floss through the eye of the threader, then slide the stiff end under the wire and pull the floss through. This allows you to floss each tooth individually, cleaning the gum line and preventing plaque buildup. The process takes some practice, but after a few tries my son could floss his entire mouth in a few minutes. The threaders come in a resealable bag, making them easy to store and carry in a travel kit or school backpack. They are disposable, but you can reuse one for multiple teeth in a single session before discarding it. I appreciate that they are latex‑free and safe for people with allergies. Using threaders has reduced bleeding and improved his gum health during orthodontic treatment. The cost per piece is minimal, and a pack lasts several months. They also work well for cleaning under fixed bridges and around permanent retainers. It’s important to supervise younger children until they master the technique to avoid poking their gums. Overall, floss threaders are an indispensable tool for anyone with braces or dental work that interferes with flossing. I highly recommend them for maintaining oral hygiene during orthodontic treatment. Read more
I have issues with my hand making flossing difficult. These are sturdier and larger than other brands I've purchased. I still had difficulty using them but that is on me. My husband had no problems using this once he figured it out & he found it easy to floss around his bridges. Excellent value and you can easily take them with you. I would put some in a small zip loc bag as there is no need to take 100 with you. If you have no hand mobility issues this is a good choice. I would definitely recommend them. Read more
Unbeknownst to me, my husband has been reusing the floss threader that he was given by the dentist when he had a bridge put in for...probably way, way too long. It wasn't until he couldn't find it and really needed to floss that both he and I realized how beneficial it would be for him to have spares on hand. 500 of them might seem a bit excessive, but given that there are 5 separate packs, I plan to tuck them away in easy to access places. I don't need them, but the world stops moving when I have something caught between my teeth...nothing else matters until I can get my hands on floss because it drives me mad to be able to feel something stuck. As such, I already keep floss and picks in both of our vehicles and on both floors of our home (which is the kitchen, our bathroom and in my office) for convenience and to always know that when a flossing emergency arises, I know there is something within easy reach. Now my husband will have the same comfort by being able to have these threaders handy wherever he happens to be instead of waiting until he is able to get to his bathroom vanity at the end of the day to floss because it seems like the most likely location food gets stuck is anywhere you've had dental work and bridges are impossible to access without these. They function exactly as they should and are a solid value for how many you get. Read more
My dentist gave me floss threaders with each visit, so I'm really accustomed to using them. When they stopped offering them, or having them when I asked - eeek! I mean, I remember how to floss without them, but... why would I want to? When I saw these, I ordered immediately. And, if anything, they are even better than those the dental office gave me! They are stronger, sturdier, and a tiny bit bigger. Not bigger enough to cause problems, just bigger enough to get the job done. With 500, they will last me a long time before I need to reorder. I have them in each bathroom, and in my carry on case. Dental floss is easy to find, floss threaders, not necessarily to much! It seems that there are two kinds of dental people - those that use, and swear by threaders, and those that don't see the purpose at all. That's all okay. If you are a threader user, don't think twice, just order these. And if you don't see the purpose, maybe try these, and discover why we love them! In either case, you can't go wrong with these threaders. Read more
These are sturdier and larger than other brands I've purchased. I've never really had much trouble with the others. Sometimes they are a little hard to grasp or the threading end bends and makes it a bit challenging to insert. You probably won't have that problem with these due to the larger size. However, the one possible drawback I had was that where the passage was particularly narrow, I could not pull it through with dental floss due to the thicker material. After removing the floss I could pull it through but it was a bit uncomfortable for my gums. I will probably just use the end partially and not pull it all the way in the future in that particular area. They come 100 threaders in each of the five plastic containers that are included. I'm not sure why I'd be carrying 100 of these around, I suppose for travel purposes. But I can store the 100 pack in the medicine cabinet and the remainder somewhere else. So that is probably a benefit. I like that the 100 pack containers are plastic. I feel its easier to keep sanitary than a paper package. For what they are, I think they are a good value. Read more
